These Japanese scissors are typically what you'd find in professional hair salons. They are light, extremely sharp, and well-constructed. There is no give between the two blades adjoining together. And having used it for years now, it's still as sharp as on day one. These are highly recommended and give a very good finish on the hair. The crocodile scissors likewise are constructed the same way and give a very nice finish. These are very well constructed with the finest Japanese steel. I definitely recommend them. It's worth every penny.

I will break down into sections the reasons for this glowing review.Function:Let’s start with the whole reason you are buying these: to cut hair. After being asked by my girlfriend to trim the split ends off her hair (then panicking; watching a whole load of videos online; researching types of scissors and techniques) I decided to go ahead and give it a shot with a basic pair of large scissors purchased from a well-known Swedish furniture retailer (you know the one). If I'm honest with myself, I did a pretty good job with a basic set of scissors and she was surprised/delighted by what I had accomplished. Only, the whole process took over 2 hours due to clumsy, uncomfortable grip and imprecise blades for cutting hair. I did it so well though, that she expects me to do it again and again. So I decided to purchase these to make things easier and more comfortable, and to speed up future attempts. These scissors cut hair beautifully, with satisfying friction between blades; clean, precise cuts due to Japanese stainless steel blades; comfortable to hold in hand and on fingers and thumb; easy to adjust for those actual professionals that understand why you want to increase the gap between the blades (so far, I have no clue as to its purpose).Basically, these function fantastically and will give you a clean cut of hair. The primary reason you are buying these.Design:The sleek matte black, with simple white printed branding, logo and “Japanese stainless steel”, and gold finger rest and screw makes these a very beautiful looking pair of scissors. Now that’s not a sentence I thought I would say, but these do look great as far as scissors go. If you are using these professionally, then these will definitely look the part for your business.Case:The black case with simple branding is a nice touch. It is a foldable soft touch case, with a magnet clasp to keep it closed. It not a fancy, technological marvel with springs built in to present scissors after automatically opening upon hearing the words “alohomora”. It’s a case with a foam inlay to safely store your scissors. That’s it. Not entirely sure what the two circles and rectangle “cut-outs” are for, but it doesn’t affect its use.Overall:Whether you are a professional or just someone who likes to cut their own or friends/family’s hair at home, then these are exactly what you are looking for. They are affordable, cut beautifully and don’t have any faults that I can see.

Superior quality scissors comes with comb and case... I occasionally dip them in castor oil, then carefully wipe dry to retain sharpness.
