Hard to fault
Worth highlighting that the manufacturer's recommended 'boil-safe' capacity for this 1.2 litre kettle is 800ml.I use a gas hob to heat this. In response to some other reviews: it was clean inside when received and I simply filled, boiled and discarded the water several times before first use for coffee. To me, it smelled only of 'clean metal' without affecting taste and this diminished over time. I've used it for a couple of months with no 'goo' appearing inside. The lid is a little loose but I don't see this as a major issue and, for those who want an audible indication of boiling, it makes a not unpleasant jangle when this happens. In my experience, the lid is only in danger of toppling out if the kettle is tipped so that the spout is pointing straight down and I find it easy to use the thumb of the pouring hand or the free hand to keep the lid secure by pressing on the thermometer dial.Heats up quickly. Thermometer is accurate as far as I can tell. Pours beautifully. If you use sufficient water there will be no sputtering until you drain the kettle completely. There's no volume measure in the kettle but I use the ridges to measure out how much I need.

the missing link
This piece of kit feels like the missing link in my home coffee brewing setup. I have a choice between aeropress, stove-top espresso maker and using the cafetiere. However, I was getting pretty frustrated with the excess bitterness I could taste over the coffee notes that was ruining the flavour all because, whichever method I used, I couldn't control the heat of the water. I'd tried flicking the kettle off before it would boil but at best that was time consuming and at worst pure guesswork. This kettle allows me to guarantee better coffee consistently. Who doesn't want that? The supremely useful thermometer and gauge take out the guesswork completely and allow me to reach the magic 95 that allows for the best possible brewing of coffee. The design looks good in the kitchen and the kettle itself is pretty light. It's small enough to store away or to leave out whichever your preference. The narrow spout allows for a good pour without splashing everywhere or leaking. If you really appreciate good quality coffee then this kettle is a must.

Bought in October 2020, thermometer now broken
For context, I bought this in October 2020, just over 3 years ago. The kettle itself had seen me make multiple cups of coffee and tea a day and served me well. Now, three years later, the thermometer gauge is broken. I did not put it in the dishwasher (hand wash only!) and only used filter water. I would say this was a very well made kettle (especially at the price I paid for back then). While the thermometer was still working, it performed beautifully, letting me brew the different types of tea leaves I had (which had to be at different temperatures!) The lid is slight loose which makes it easy to figure out when the water is finally boiled as the lid rattles.I guess I finally have to buy a new one. Very much happy with it!

Great for V60 pour over coffee, lid design could be better
I love the ease of pouring hot water slowly and gradually from this kettle over my V60 cone. It takes too long to boil water directly in it on my ceramic hob, so I boil water in my electric kettle and transfer it to this kettle for pouring. My only annoyance is the thermometer lid which is top heavy and completely round, so when I place the lid on my worktop to fill the kettle, it rolls off the worktop unless I place it between things that will stop it from rolling too far. And when I place it in my utensil draining compartment when I’m done using it, it sometimes falls out because it’s top heavy. I also have to remember to hold it well when pouring water so that it doesn’t fall out of the kettle as it sits loosely on top, not tightly like on a teapot. The manual says to dry it well between uses, but I find it difficult if not impossible to completely dry the seams. I like to let things air dry in my drainer, but this kettle never dries out completely when I do that and drying it with a tea towel by hand still leaves water and dampness around the inner seams.

Base starting to seperate and leak at welds after less than 4 months, dangerous and low quality
Garbage product, garbage company. Have owned for less than 4 months and it has started to seperate at the welds at the base and leak. Contacted coffee gator 15 days ago to inform and ask for replacement only to get no reply.......DO NOT PURCHASE THIS FLIMSY CRAP FROM THESE CHEAP SKATES.

Great product helps make a great coffee
Nice ergonomic handle for easy pouring. I particularly like the built in thermometer to keep the water at the optimum temperature. I would recommend this and am enjoying the pour over coffee experience more with this kettle

A must for pourover
Nice packaging - well protected, comes with a coffee scoop.Solid build on the kettle, handle doesn't get warm, thermometer while slow is accurate enough. It does take a while to boil water from cold though. I would recommend boiling water in a kettle and then pouring it in to speed things up.Overall would highly recommend.

Best pouring kettle ever.
This works on our induction hob, and boils far quicker than an electric kettle. Has a temperature gauge on the lid so we can get it to the precise temperature for making proper larg leaf teas. The spout pours really beautifully and it is a joy to use. We descale the kettle with the juice of a fresh lemon which leaves it looking new again. Much better than the old electric kettle we used before.
