It does what it says up to a point.
This solution does work to some extent by working on the hairs own pigment. It is not a dye. You will need to apply it on a regular basis to get the optimum effect. It is easy to apply and is not messy at all. It may stain the collar of your shirt but it comes off on washing readily. It is a little overpriced but a bottle will last for several months.

A lot of hassle for not much benefit (updated)
So I remember this stuff from when I was a kid getting a hair cut in barber shops. Now I've got a pair of silver sides and a growing fleck of grey up top. Didn't want to do a full dye job, wanted to keep a hit of grey. Grecian 2000 seemed like the ideal choice.Pros:Ok, it does work a bit, but very gradually. I mean, really, it takes ages. After 2 week you can see a slight difference, after 4 the hard silver sheen has gone, and there's a pale brown tint in it's place. You can still see flecks of silver, this isn't a full dye experience. Actually I think the look is ok, but after 4 weeks I expected more, especially considering the cons below. It's easy to apply - I used the lotion - once you get the technique.I go to the gym most week days and do water sports, so my hair was getting washed regularly. I just put more lotion in each time after drying my hair afterwards. This probably slowed the process down a bit, I probably also used much more lotion then normal, but didn't stop it working.Cons:As reported elsewhere, the smell. Don't expect your significant other to get too excited by the new aroma you'll be emitting when you have this stuff in your hair. Fortunately it doesn't carry much, but anyone getting close is going to get a sampling of what a volcano smells like - the sulfur smell is pretty bad. You get used to it, but nobody else will. Seriously, you need to plan any romantic escapades around having a hair wash first to get rid of the stuff.The other biggie is the brown colour it stains your sweat when you work out. Prepare for your gym towel to get brown stains.The brown colour doesn't appear immediately, but starts after an hour or two. If you're not careful, it will stain your collar but the colour does come out when you wash the shirt (thank goodness). It also leaves a faint yellow mark on pillow cases, which also disappears when it's washed.Conclusion: It really is a drag that it works so slowly. You really need to persevere. I tried. Walking around for six weeks smelling of sulfur is pretty tough and the hassle with staining sweat is a pain too.As it is, it does offset grey but the super slow speed at which it works, coupled with the smell, makes it hard to keep going. I would give it 4 stars if the dye process was twice or 5 stars if it were four times as fast. Then it would be worth the hassle. But as it is, sorry, I'm going to try Touch of Grey instead.
