Great value, multi-purpose additive.
I haven’t owned an aquarium for all that long, and like many beginners, I neglected to do my research first. Unfortunately the staff at the local pet supermarket didn’t advise me about nitrates, cycling, testing, or any of the other fairly essential things you need when keeping fish.I now have all of the essentials, but only through trial and error and sadly, a few dead fish.If you’re going to keep fish in a tank you need to understand that fish poop, and fish food and poop rot. When they rot, they give off ammonium. Ammonium is poisonous. When enough ‘good’ bacteria develop, they turn this into nitrate and nitrite (also toxic, but slightly less so). This can be managed by further bacterial development, but also through regular water changes and chemical intervention. Now, the other think which does fish in is tap water, or more specifically, the chlorine contained within the tapwater. This I already knew, so I bought a bottle of over-the-counter ‘tap safe’ style product which only serves to take out metals and chlorine. This was very expensive from that same certain pet supermarket.I haven’t got any complaints about that product, but it’s not cheap, and it does nothing to aid your nitrate cycling. This, on the other hand is dirt cheap when bought in bulk, and does the same thing and more. It zaps the chlorine and the metals instantly. It also includes aloe-vera to aid the fish with their own mucous coatings, and importantly is bio-active – i.e. it contains a dose of those ‘good’ bacteria to help kick your nitrate cycle into action.I can confirm, having tested tap water before and after use, that it nukes the chlorine, and helps bring the PH into line.As for the nitrates/nitrites, this isn’t an overnight fix, but in addition to other products I have bought, it seems to be doing the right thing.I happily paid full price for this product, and believe it represents excellent value when compared to the cost of much smaller bottles from the shops. It is also dirt cheap compared to re-stocking your tank if your fish all die off.Like I say, I’m a beginner, but if I can help with any questions, please leave them in the comments, and/or use the voting buttons. Thanks for reading.

Great product
Does exactly what is says on the bottle and It will also add bacteria to your fish tank so there is no need to purchase extra chemicals or bacteria.Does a good job (tested with water liquid tester) and I'm very happy with the results. Water stays nice and clean. There is a "measuring cup" on the top of the bottle which I find very useful. I would recommend it.
