Maybe effective
Well, I am not sure it works as I have not entered my loft since install. That said, I have not any evidence that rats or mice have returned, so that good news

Seems to work
The lights are bright and there is a ticking sound. We haven’t seen a mouse since but time will tell.

Seems to have worked...
I had a mouse scratching in my living room ceiling recently so bought 2 of these ....one I plugged into a socket in the living room....and the other in a socket in the room above the living room ..... and within a day....no more scratching. Then two weeks ago in a bedroom in another part of the house there was again scratching in the ceiling.I bought another repeller and plugged it into a socket in the bedroom....once again within a day no more scratching. So on the basis of the evidence I have so far ...they seem to work.Only slight negative is I wish the nightlight could be dimmed or even switched off because it's rather bright and the ticking sound they emit can be a bit noticeable say in quiet locations....I've now grown accustomed to the sound so no big deal really.

They work!
After trying every method to chase our little friends from our home, we decided to give these a go. They have been amazing and so far we are rat free, we have two as you need one on each ring main. Wished we had tried these first! Highly recommend

Extremely irritating
I don’t know if this works or not. It has a most disturbing ticking noise that is driving me crazy. I might have to move out before the rats! I think the electromagnetic function is a great idea, but I will have to look for other products to replace this one.

It does exactly what it say on the tin!
We live in a relatively new house but had a mouse problem. For a few months we heard scratching noises in the walls, I found some mouse faeces when I was cleaning behind a book case and top it all of, saw a little mouse scurrying around in the living room. I did not want to trap or kill any mouse so I found Rentokil Beacon Mouse & Rat Rep Dual Action as a less lethal way of getting rid of mouse. I had this on for about 4 months and all mouse activities have seized. However, when I looked at the quarterly electricity bill, I was a bit shocked! The electricity usage was the same as the previous quarter except for this deterrent so I switched it off. About three months have gone now and we have not had a single squeak or scratches from mouse so this seemed to have done its job. I couldn't give a full five star due to its high electricity consumption.

Appears to work
I have 3 of these plus 2 battery operated ones and they appear to work.Firstly, I use them to repel rats which I have in my loft and cavity walls.I use these in combination with poison. The reason for the purchase is the electromagnetic element. Ultrasonic does not go through hard surfaces such as walls, but the electromagnetic part works off the wiring. Most houses have 2 circuits, one up and one downstairs. You need to have one connected to each circuit to cover your property and for it to work inside the walls. The battery ones are in the loft and are Ultrasonic only.Do they work then?I think so, but in combination with other measures, ie. Poison.Do they work straight away? No, be patient. No one wants rodents in their house, but it takes time. Are the lights bright? Yep! But just cover them with electrical tape. Job done!Is there a noise off them? A slight clicking but nothing intrusive.Expensive? A little but to be honest, it's nothing compared to ratty running around so I hence why I purchased 3!
