I last had major coverage of plaque psoriasis 35-40 years ago, but have recently had an outbreak of guttate psoriasis all over my body. It is not bleeding and painful as my first case was, but has started itching like crazy - especially on my back.I am avoiding scratching and rubbing as I do not want to create raw and bleeding patches, but occasionally I do forget and absent-mindedly scratch at something.40 years ago I used Oilatum and it helped, so I was eager to try this version now.I usually shower every day, but for the last few days I have been taking a bath in the evening, a short while before going to bed. I am putting this Oilatum Plus in the water and soaking for 10-15 minutes.It seems to be reducing the irritation and itching, enabling me to get off to sleep. It seems to be more effective than standard Oilatum (in a blue bottle).The "plus" seems to be Triclosan, and Benzalkonium Chloride, which add an antiseptic, antibacterial quality.Triclosan was withdrawn from many over the counter preparations in 2017, and indeed Oilatum Plus does not currently appear on the Oilatum website. It might have been discontinued. I am waiting to hear back from GSK, the manufacturer, about this.I am happy to use this for a short period if it helps to bring my fresh psoriasis under control, and then I can simply switch to normal Oilatum if i need to continue treatment..It is not particularly cheap to buy, but you do not need to use very much in each bath, AND it definitely makes a difference. For me it is excellent.

some people might find that this is a bit greasy but does stop your skin from itching

Brilliant for skin

I bought this after my mother's recommendation. Having bathed in it everyday right up to her due dates for me and my sisters, she never got one single stretch mark. I have got stretch marks, but this however is not down to the pregnancy, but the operation i had when i was 10 weeks pregnant. The stretch marks are coming from my wounds, however the regular use of Oilatum is my bath is making them fade tremendously. CAUTION: should you be pregnant and use this in your bath (even if you are not heavy handed and only use the recommended amount) make sure to have supervision when getting in and out of the bath - as the base of it gets quite slippery. Have found that with continued use my skin seems smoother and much better cared for than any other product i have tried. I am still using the Oilatum and I am in my 27th week of pregnancy.

I had very very dry itchy skin after a week of nights and having used oilatum products in the past I bought this as something a little more "powerful".... Not normally one to just slob and soak in the bath, this made it really nice to do so. After a couple of repeats my skin was much softer and less dry and itchy. I now make a point of having at least one of these baths a week. I also use the cream afterwards on particularly dry areas and the new face cream which is superb and better and any moisturiser I've used before. I have the whole range!!! And problem solved.

oilatum has not been on the shelves here in Ireland anymore So, to find it here and its cheaper is 5 stars already.But Oilatum plus is great for atopic dermatitis, general eczema, and other skin conditions. Not only is it an emollient. It is an antiseptic as well, Which is vital for eczema suffering as forgien pathogens can cause irritation.Use it once a week and you will see your skin improve.Every day for extreme sufferers (which I was before this)

To prevent damaged skin after being to the beach, removal of perspiration and dust.

This bath emollient is excellent if,like me,you suffer from dry skin.After a good soak my skin is moisturised and healthier.Would recommend.
