I don't think silicone will ever match brick mortar, it has a different look to it, it's more shiny. If you are sealing around a door or window they usually use the same colour silicone as the door or window.

Q: Has anyone used it to point-up a lead flashing where it's put into the brickwork mortar joint?

No, I haven't, but at the price it's worth a try if you don't want to use mortar instead.
