A great meaty shredder.
So far so good 👍. No messing just pick up to 11 pages and put them through, it saves so much time then my old one. Shreds credit cards another important thing, it's quite large but worth having if you have the space.

Good but not perfect
I bought this new Fellowes shredder to replace my previous very old (more than 10 years) Fellowes shredder. Whilst it seems to do the job, quality of design and construction seem to have taken a big backwards step. 1. It's much noisier than the old one, even after using the approved oil (never used oil on the old one) 2. The basket has some quite sharp protuberances where the opaque(!) window is attached. As you can't see into the basket anyway, this window could have been omitted. 3. My old Fellowes had a handle to enable lifting the heavy shredder head off to empty the bin. This new one doesn't have this and is quite slippery to manage. The side recesses don't have proper grips for holding it. Emptying can be a messy job. 4. The entry slot for shredding has no real guide to enable an angled feed. However, it's still a good shredder and does the job well, even when fed multiple sheets, so I think four stars are about right., knocking one off for backward steps in design/construction. Time will tell if it lasts as long as its predecessor.

Great shredder
I bought this as a replacement for another Fellowes cross-cut shredder which must have been about 15 years old when it failed. I am hoping the same for this model. It's an even better design than my previous one and the lid is much easier to lift off with the inset handle at either end. Very impressed with the capacity too. I wouldn't put 10 sheets at a time through it though as it would burn the motor out more quickly. I'd say 3-4 sheets maximum of a normal 80 gsm thickness paper is what it sounds happy shredding before it sounds too laboured. Perfect for my daily use though.

Reliable Make
Have used the Fellowes make for a few years and always find them to be reliable. My old one packed in so bought this one. Its a lot quicker and quieter than the previous one. Only down side is having to lift the top of the waste basket each time to empty it as the last one just pulled out. All in all a great machine though.

Good but not phenomenal
Works about as well as any other shredder I’ve had over the past 30 years. (All the others eventually got destroyed by people at home, progressively feeding more and more sheets into the slot, until something broke.) Like all the others, this one still overheats after some minutes of operation - why on earth they can’t put a simple extraction fan in there, I don’t know. Also, some kind of LED bar graph of how close you’re getting to tripping the thermal switch would be handy. That way, you could throttle your usage to keep it going indefinitely. All you get is a single red LED that effectively says “I’ve already overheated- go do something else for half and hour.”

Very useful purchase
This is one of those purchases where I was looking at the price for a long time and debating whether it was worth it. Let's face it.... It expensive, even on sale. That being said, compared to my much cheaper, entry level shredder also from Fellowes, this product is on a completely different level where I can understand some of the cost difference. My smaller shredder would jam with more than two sheets of paper in it. A staple would stop it shredding the rest of the sheet and it would need unblocking every half hour or so. This one I shredded about 6 months worth of junk in at least 1/4 of the time of the smaller one with zero jamming at all. I even put stuff in it that I was sure was going to jam and it didn't stop.... Honestly its pretty scary how effective it is. I put cardboard in the thing and it went through. I put plastic cards into it with no issue. I even put through entire envelopes with the rubbish from TV licencing inside, still sealed and it didn't even flinch. The bin also holds a fair amount. I had to empty it twice for 6 months worth of collected junk (around 60-80 letters and flyers). The deposited paper is small strips, extremely safe and almost impossible to rebuild. Definitely safe enough for confidential office use. Noise wise, it's about the same as every other shredder you have likely heard. It's not quiet but you can hear yourself talk over it but if you are using a phone nearby it's definitely heard on the other end. Obviously this price point means it's still a 'nice to have' product but I can honestly say there's nothing more I would ask for from this product.

Excellent choice for a small business or office with less than 10 people. Mostly used for shredding less than a 100 sheets per week.

This is the second Fellowes Shredder I have purchased. The first lasted five years. The new one is working well and seems to be less noisy and is working great. I would definitely recommend it.
