A good first book to learn the flute

This product arrived promptly and well packaged. I ordered this for my daughter who has just started the flute and it contains everything she needs to know as a beginner. The book contains many well known songs for my daughter to play and the set out in a logical and easy to understand. Great book for flute beginners.

My daughter recently started to learn to play the flute and this was recommended by her teacher. She uses it all the time ( including during her flute lesson at school). It seems easy to follow and she has picked up learning to read the music quickly. A great book that will last her for a while too as the music towards the end is a lot more advanced.

This was recommended by my daughters flute teacher (year 7) & she is making great progress with this book. Especially as she has no experience reading music previously. Ideal for beginners.

Required book for school flute lessons, my child has learnt well from this book and is progressing nicely.

Still fabulous. Great for year 5 upwards or younger children who are good music readers. If music reading is tricky for you best start with Flute Basics as this book progresses less gently. Lots of great folk tunes and other tunes, no exercises, scales up to grade 3 at back of book, reaches grade 3 standard by end of the book.

Bought the book for my daughter as it was recommended by her music teacher. Came with a CD of soundtracks although in the short time she played the flute I don't think she used the CD.

Recommended by 8 year old's flute teacher to teach note reading as a supplement to her usual Suzuki flute method. Great use of familiar tunes to help connect the notes on the page to songs typically learned in childhood through singing but also a good mix of less familiar tunes to push reading. I also appreciate the addition of duets to challenge independence.

Very useful for beginner

This is not a book I've used with students as their primary beginner book, but it has a lot of folk tunes, songs that kids recognize, and duets, and is laid out in a simple but fun way. I love to use it for sight-reading or supplementary work with my beginner students.

Great book that is chock full of fun songs all supported with fingerings for any new notes and explanations for musical articulations and other notations.
