Usual good story we’ll told

Engaging but predictable story, in the Wilbur smith style but not with the panorama of intrigue and description that took you there. A very quick and poor ending.

The last time I read a Wilbur Smith was in the 1970's and it doesn't seem that his writing style has evolved over the years. Although the plot lines are good the characterisation is superficial. His heroes and paragons of physical prowess and intellectual acuity with few flaws and his villains are unrelievedly villainous without any redeeming features. The result is they remain cyphers without giving us any insight into their inner processes. It's a pity because with so many books in his output I had hoped to read more.

I love this author will never tire of reading he has.so much knowledge about Africa I am reading the whole Courtney series for the second time
