Faulty item
After a couple of months the soup maker started cutting out and showing the error "E1". The product info says that this is because it has been filled above the max line, but it has not. Even when filled up to the min line it cuts out. It's a great shame as prior to this it made great soup. You can rectify this by lifting the lid and wiping the sensor, but after the 5th time of doing this it becomes very frustrating and defeats the object of what is meant to be a labour saving device. I'd avoid this product as it seems very unreliable. It's past its warranty so there is nothing I can do now.

Salters soup maker 1.6 litre.
Easy to clean, good size, works well, bit noisy when it starts up with the blade, heat level is perfect, would certainly recommend.

More hassle than it's worth?
Worked well - when it worked. But it's a nightmare trying to get the fill level right. The level marker is on the outside of a metal container, very difficult to see as you're filling it. It says to cut things up about 2cm cubes, but if you do, the cutting blade won't work - you have to dice things like veg up much smaller. And it's not the easiest to clean either. When it did work it made great soup. But I'm not sure it's worth the hassle.
