Simple and good value.
I was uncertain about the practicality of these bags, but they seem to work pretty well, and I definitely get a better result than I did without them.

These do work but ...
I never tire of being amused by reviews that say something doesn't work, when I know for a fact that it does. It is a strange but common phenomenon. So ignore the reviews here that suggest theses pouches don't work. They do, their easy to use and the results are very good. I had to experiment a little on the perfect time for set whites and runny yolk but that was to be expected. However, there are a couple of significant drawbacks:1. At 8p per pouch, especially when you consider the price of a single egg itself, the pouches are expensive - for what are basically just folds of paper2. Some of the pouches are not fully sealed at the bottom so the egg leaks out when you crack it into the pouch, ruining the whole process. It's happened 3 times from 20 pouches so far. Not good considering the aforementioned price.

Great Find
Love these poachies, I get a cup, place the poachie inside the cup and open, crack an egg, place inside the poachie and pop in boiling hot water straight away. Works a treat. Easy to clean and no mess to the Saucepan

Decline in quality and now all the pouches split
I have been buying Poachies for a couple of years, originally direct from the company but the last couple of orders through Amazon. As others have noted, these are very expensive compared to coffee filter bags, but I was content to pay the price. However the last pack I bought was absolute rubbish - the bags split as soon as the egg was *very* carefully deposited. I ended up stapling the bottom of the pouches but even doing this was not always successful and the sides of the bag still split. After persevering with about 20 bags, hoping perhaps only some of them were faulty (No, it was all of them), I decided I'd wasted too many expensive, organic, free-range eggs and ended up chucking the rest of the pack, 80 pouches, in the bin. I see others have had a similar experience in recent months. Having been a regular purchaser, Poaches can no longer count me as a customer.
