Undoubtably the best to use and most secure key safe
This is definitely the best key safe: it is easy to use even in low light conditions, weatherproof, will accommodate several door keys of all standard types on an internal hook (crucial so keys don't fall out on opening/closing key safe). The door is hinged so it's not fiddly to open or close, and the door/keypad can't be lost. It is extremely sturdy without being an eyesore - it can be placed in plain view of the relevant door, no one is going to remove this or break it open without industrial tools! It comes highly recommended by professionals who use key safes for the elderly and infirm, although in our case the prime users are errant offspring who forget keys.... The code is easily set using the plastic tool set unobtrusively inside; most people use 4 digits but it can be more or less. The order of digits doesn't matter, but there are still far too many possible combinations for this to be a security issue. Never ever use a screwdriver to set the code or lose a record of the code, or it will be a permanent and unusable wall ornament! Fitting is for a practiced DIYer or a professional. Invest in a high quality 5mm masonry drill bit of sufficient length to accommodate the masonry screws (go directly into brick, does NOT use wall-plugs) Holes have to be drilled precisely (photocopy the template unhelpfully printed on the rear of the instructions), drill pilot holes with a small bit first & make sure the template is the right way up! Even with a good heavy drill with hammer action the whole process takes a couple of hours in order to read and fully understand the instructions, assemble all the kit, ensure correct placement, fit the key safe, set the code and instruct the users. Although the unit is compact it is heavy so a helper is required. It may well break out of standard amazon packaging because it is heavy, but the box is secure and everything is packed neatly within the uncoded and unlocked key safe on arrival.

The only keysafe worth considering!
There seem to be just two contenders on the market: this, or the much cheaper MasterLock. The latter can be picked with 10 mins' research on the internet, a feeler gauge, and five minutes' effort. Mine also had a habit of resetting itself to a random combination - so I suppose it was handy that it could be picked. Anyhow, the obvious security implications led me to upgrade to this, which is Police Approved. I have to say that I'm very, very impressed; everything about it smells of security. It's very heavy duty, and it comes supplied with security masonry screws that bite straight into the brick - no PlasPlugs (since they can be levered off the wall with a crowbar). Operation is simple; the buttons are much clearer than the small numbers on the MasterLock combination. The lock is simple and solid and easy to operate, and it can't be forced - if the combination is wrong, it simply turns around without opening the lock. Some reviewers have expressed reservations that you can put the numbers in in any order, which reduces the number of combinations. True; but there are twelve buttons (labelled 0-9 and A,B), and you can decide for each one whether you want it pressed or not in your combination - you aren't restricted to four digits. That means that, whereas a four-digit combination lock has 10,000 possibilities, this one has 4095; not quite as many, but still an awful lot for a potential burglar to work through. (Yes, the mathematically inclined may point out that there should be 4096 combinations; but one of those is to have no buttons pressed, which isn't at all secure since it would open as soon as the "clear" button is pressed.) You can buy this key safe at various prices from about £50 to £120. At £50, it's well worth it - very cheap insurance, and far more secure than the MasterLock. One very minor niggle: it needs a torx-head driver for the screws. I bought a whole set of these at Aldi for £4, so it wasn't a big deal; they are occasionally useful for other things. I don't know why they couldn't have used an Allen head though, or else included a spanner as Ikea does. Overall - brilliant. I don't normally bother to leave reviews, but this device deserves it.

Just The Best In Class
There are a few (key safe, key box) styles and quality out there. I use this model for ease of use, ease of installation, build quality and price. This uses a push-button system rather than cogs to enter the correct combination. The push-buttons are a lot easier to use than cogs especially if your hands are cold and the light is failing (winter months). I have installed three of these and have had no issue with water (rain) getting in. The setup of the code for the lock is fiddly the first time but once you are used to it it's easy. When you get the item and hold it in your hand and feel the weight of it, you know you bought a sturdy well made key box. It's more money than the ones that use a cog combination but it's a security item and well worth the extra cost.

Very secure, heavy and well built. Paintable, which makes it almost invisible. Glad I bought it!

No es tan fácil de “programar” el código como con otros pero en su favor digo que es súper robusto y se ve de muy buena calidad.

L'ouverture ne se fait pas systématiquement alors que le code est bien composé. La poignée tourne et la porte ne s'ouvre pas.
