Perfect chip basket
I'm glad of the extra height of this basket, really a full saucepan depth, it's so easy, and I make just a nice portion (even if I did overdo it and had 2 eggs). Perfect in the dishwasher, well made out of good, sturdy materials, stainless steel I guess, it's as good as the day I bought it. Use it, dishwash it and put it out of the way til next time (only once a week maximum).Great chips though.

A kitchen essential
If, like me, you don't have a deep fat fryer and prefer the taste of deep fried home made chips to an air fryer then this works a treat. I have a set of Denby pans and the basket fits the diameter perfectly to the 20cm Sauce Pan. It also sticks out of the pan as it is roughly an inch taller. The handle safely hooks on to the pan handle allowing the chips to drip their excess oil off before removing them from the pan altogether. It's not the perfect tool but it does a good job and its certainly much better than not using one.

Great quality
Fitted well in our chip pan. Works as it should. Delivered swiftly and price was good.

Decent cheap equipment
Careful not to bash at the sides as the mesh can bend fairly easily and the little flippy metal bit at the end seems useless to me so far but all in all a reliable fryer basket. Used many times to fry chips, chicken wings, breaded mushrooms and all sorts of other foods

Small chip basket
It’s a great basket just the right size for my normal sauspan my old chip pan was fat to big so I swapped it for one of my ordinary pans . The old basket would not fit at all much to big but, this nice small one is great . No complaints Thankyou satisfied purchase

A difficult to find utensil, but with a coarse mesh
I had owned and used a similar basket for many years but portions of its wire mesh had broken and it was difficult to keep clean. Eventually, after being repeatedly cut by one or more of its broken wires, I discarded it.This is a very deep basket, almost as deep as it is wide, and will suit not only some of the deeper pans that can sometimes be found but the shallower ones too. However, for those who prefer 'french fries' as obtained in McDonalds and many other fast food outlets, the mesh is rather wide at around 12mm on the base and much of its height and chips of a smaller size might well slip through. There is a similar utensil, described as a blanching basket with a much finer mesh which may better suit. There is a draining clip on the side that can be slid over the edge of the pan, raising the chips from the oil (for safety reasons, the pan should never be more than 1/3 filled with oil) and allowing them to drain.Quite inexpensive, and very difficult to find in the shops - not even in the bargain basement ones - it is essential for those who prefer real deep-fried chips to the oven-baked version. Recommended.
