A Smart Girl's Guide to Understanding Her Family: Feelings, Fighting & Figuring It Out (American Girl)

I've bought a few of these 'Smart Girl' books for my middle daughter aged 9. My eldest (11years) has read them too but agreed that whilst useful they are a bit young for her. Although these books are American don't let that put you off; they are not saccharine but gently straight talking with solid advice to help young girls think about and deal with everyday concerns. They are great for a girl to read alone, do the quizzes or to share together and open up discussion. This particular book focuses on getting along with your family, including sibling rivalry and squabbles etc.

Great tips and my 10 year old daughter enjoyed it and it helped her discuss things that concern her more rather than go in a huff or argue. So would recommend this book.

It seems like a good positive book for my 9 year old daughter. She's started to read it and fill in some things. A good buy I think.

Bought this book for my daughter, at the recommendation of our pediatrician. I was worried that my daughter would not be interested in it, but as soon as it came in, she looked at it, took it in her room, and is now in there reading it. Looking forward to whatever she might want to talk about after she reads it. Definitely going to look into the rest of the series.

my daughter is 11 years old and there's a lot of situations they go through in the book that are helpful. Also, it's good for her to learn about situations her friends might be going through even if she's not.I'd recommend this book for any girl from 10-18 years old

Doctor suggested these books for my daughter and she loves them. She goes back and rereads them if she thinks of a question.

American Girl books are amazing. Although some of their doll accessories and merchandise can be pricey, I feel like the books are relevant, developmentally appropriate and helpful.

My ten year old actually liked this book, there are a few others by the same author that are equally as good.

My daughter loves this series. She has been having a difficult time as both her brothers are younger and she is a pre-teen. That itself is a recipe for disaster. This book explains different scenarios and allows her to put situations into perspective. She has learned to stop, show down, and think about how to better handle things

american girls books are awesome for my 12 yrs old daughter and she is happy and expecting at all times that i will buy one more to add to her collection...

My 11 year old daughter likes this book and I have noticed her trying to use some of it's advice. She stated it's mostly about how to get along with siblings. Not super helpful for her since she does not have any.
