Pioneer PL-30(K) Fully Automatic Stereo Turntable (Belt Drive, 33/45rpm, Equalizer Preamp, Turntable, Turntable Tonearm and Cast Aluminum Carrier), Black

I was looking for a turntable that I could connect to my Pioneer A 10 amplifier but I didn't want to spend hundreds of pounds nor buy something cheap.Then I came across this little beauty the Pioneer PL 30 K belt drive turntable after reading lots of positive reviews on amazon.co.uk & watching a few youtube videos about the Pioneer PL 30 K I decided that it was the one for me.I placed my order with a few other things on the Friday morning & by Sunday afternoon I had it one day ahead of schedule.But I was really disappointed when after I had read all the instructions on how to set up the tone arm & counter weight it never worked I even checked that there was a fuse in the plug which there was.So later on that day I sent the Amazon customer service team an email stating that I had an issue with my purchase, not even knowing if Amazon would even help but I got a reply back saying one of our customer sales advisers will be in touch in 12 hours but with in only a few hours I was talking to an Amazon advisor.Who was extremely helpful & was able to arrange for the defected item to be picked up & a replacement sent out the same day free of charge.With in two days I had my replacement up & running playing my records again. So hats off to Amazon for helping me resolve the issue. Im only giving this review 4 stars because the first PL 30 K was not working but how would Amazon of known it should of been down to Pioneer to notice the defect in the first place.

Extremely well packed and protected and delivered quickly. It took me (a relative newbie to turntables) about 15-20 minutes to set it up. The instructions were decent but I took my time as I didn't want to mess it up.The unit feels very well made and its quite heavy (which is a good thing). It also looks and sounds great. I am comparing it to an old second hand Technics deck though so I would expect some improvement.I am pleased with it and for a fully automatic unit, it was great value for money.

After letting my record collection sit dormant for about 15 years without anything to play them on, I really have swung back round to vinyl again. After doing a little bit of research and knowing that I certainly wasn't ready to start splashing out on expensive options form the likes of Pro-ject or Rega, the PL-30-K seemed to be the perfect fit. Excellent sounding, easy to set up. Really can't ask for more. No regrets.

This turntable ticks all the boxes for me. Having a straight arm,replaceable cartridge and adjustable arm weight means I can upgrade in the future. The auto facility is useful for me due to the limited height in the hi-fi cabinet.25/02/2016: I feel that I must add to this review, as during the time I was using this turntable, I noticed what appeared to be a little "wow" and then occasionally the speed would vary and these faults ruined the sound of the music. I have reluctantly returned for refund while I asess what I could buy to replace itMy previous review is still true and I would have preferred to keep it if the faults did not occur.

Fantastic item. Does exactly what it says on the tin! No noise, no distortion and played through a good amp with quality speakers sounds exactly how music is meant to sound, as if they are in the room with you. Whilst MP3s are convenient for being on the move there is nothing quite like pulling some vinyl out of the sleeve and investing the time that was required to really appreciate the work that went into the product and I have to say, of all the many turntables I have owned, this outstrips them all.

Very nice turntable, decent weight and solidly built, compared to 70's models it seems a lot more plastic but hopefully nothing wrong about that. Cartridge tracking weight at 3.5 gram seems quite heavy compared to Shure M75ED, that tracked at 1.5 gram on a PL12-D in 75.I notice some people have had speed fluctuations problems, I presume they have replaced the drive belt to see if that solved it? Not noticed it myself after 12 months, probably never be able to beat my 40 year old Pioneer direct drive turntable that still works fine.

After two years of use this turntable is still operating perfectly with no sign of speed fluctuations as witnessed by others. Would definitely consider buying again.

After all this years Pioneer has created again a perfect machine. It is not a 10,000 usd machine. but makes you feel happy. Bravo Pioneer
