These sandals were exactly what I have been wanting! Birkenstock sizes are a little off, so if you have the chance to try them on in a store I would do that to find your correct size. I am usually a 7.5-8, and I ordered the size 38. I was waiting to write a review of these sandals until I broke them in. I've had them about a month now and they are finally broken in!! The toe post is definitely a little bothersome at first, and the rivet on the underside of the strap that holds to toe post in place leaves a small black stain on my foot from the black painted coating it had. The trick to getting these to fit most comfortably is making sure your foot is placed properly in them - which means your heel should be at the aback of the shoe, even if you have shorter toes that don't reach as far as you'd like (my big toe is a little short, but my other toes line up nicely). Be prepared to experience some pain while breaking these in. I started off by wearing them just a couple hours a day around the house, then slowly built up as they became more broken in. You will know when they are broken in as the shape of your foot will be completely imprinted, and the shoe conforms to the shape of your foot. At week 2 I wore them for several hours on a walk around downtown, and that was a mistake! Lots of blisters to prove it. There is tons of information online about breaking these in and taking care of them properly. It's definitely best to take your time breaking these in, but with that being said, these sandals are AWESOME now that I have put in the hours to break them in. I love the neutral color of the tobacco and I can say these are 100% authentic Birkenstock sandals. So happy with my purchase!

I ordered by the chart and they were way too big. I wear a women's 7, so I ordered a 38. I ended up having to send them back and get a 36, which fit perfectly. The first pair were in the toffee color, and gorgeous, but since I had to send them back I got the oiled leather instead so I would have real leather tops, and I don't regret that. The shoe molds to my foot like a glove. It took about a month to break them in. Now they feel perfect except one problem... The plastic thong between my toes still hurts. It's very hard and bulky. Why wouldn't they just use leather?

Let me start by saying I wear a 10 in every shoe under the sun. So I ordered these in a 41 and they were huge!! I mean they had over half an inch in the toe area when my heel was positioned correctly. I sent them back and ordered the 40. They fit the way they should. I have a wider foot But the regulars fit fine. I have only had them on for about an hour, they kind of hurt but I have heard you that need to slowly break them in. I will say the piece between the toe is hardly noticeable. So far I am happy with this purchase, I think I will adore them once they are broken in.

I like the leather straps as opposed to the Birki Flor that are on many of the other styles. Leather gives as your foot moves and has a comfort level that fake leather will never have. After spending 35 years on my feet working, I treat my feet with respect. Spend the extra bit of money if you value your feet.

Per the instructions that came with this shoe and other buyer feedback, this shoe did take some breaking in, but once it happened (approx. one week for me) it was blissful. Pain that I had been experiencing wearing nothing but flops upon moving to sunny SoCal, disappeared and my arches no longer hurt. The discomfort I felt in my arch (initially) when I first got them was a dull ache deep in the arch. When I'd take the shoe off, my feet felt rejuvenated. Its almost as though it helped to correct whatever problem I'd been having!Hubby gifted these shoes to me and I was never a fan of birks to begin with. Now, I'm ready to buy more!

After wearing these sandals most of the summer and completely submerging them in water countless times, they still look brand new. I was nervous to get them wet the first time but didn’t have a choice as our dinghy was not functioning and I had to step into knee deep water to get my kids to safety. 20 minutes later they were dry and looked exactly the same. Best sandal everrrrrrr. I love them. So comfortable and cute style too! ❤️

I LOVE these shoes. I felt hippy at first and it brought me back to my 8th grade days where I thought it was cool to not shave my armpits.I digress.The shoes are SO comfortable and way better for your feet than flip flops. If you think about the crappy flip flops you pay $50 for and then have to chuck a year later (ahem.. Tory Burch rip off flip flops).. These shoes will last you for YEARS. .Cost per wear people!

These Birkenstocks are really stylish. I got the tobacco color and they match almost anything! I am normally a 7-71/2 and per the sizing chart provided by seller I ordered the 38 which was too big. Returned with no hassle and reordered the 37 and they fit great! If you're not used to this shoe style, they can be a bit awkward at first. But if you can relax your toes around the raised toe arch instead of thinking about it all of the time, you will get used to it fast and realize how comfy these shoes are. Other than the fact that they run large, they are great shoes!

Hiked Windy Peak in Washington in these Birks. 4000 ft of elevation gain from the trailhead to the summit, 10 mile round trip, no blisters, my feet never hurt. These Gizehs are my second pair of Birkenstock sandals. I've always loved them, but never put them to the test like this before. Well worth the money!
