This unit is really designed for picking up ash from wood/pellet stoves. Given its design you can not attach other accessories to it. The metal wand is fixed in place.... The all metal design makes it a safer unit to use when cleaning out a wood/pellet stove or fire place.... If you need a vac for other cleaning chores like your car, stair steps, small celean up areas, then go buy another type of portable vacuum.
