Welding rods are not exactly glamorous but critical in modern construction and the range and quality is immense. Clearly as a home gamer I'm not going to be buying ESAB hydrogen free welding rods given the price, however, as a marine engineer I'm a fairly reasonable welder and know the value of decent rods. After all, keeping a steel ship afloat in a corrosive soup is an ongoing - and losing - battle.At home in my workshop I have a number of welders which I use for my own projects and cost is of course a factor in what I buy. These rods are well priced and to be honest, pretty good. I can get a good bead and they start well as long as I make sure they are warm and dry.And speaking of which, what I like is that these come in small shrink wrapped packs. This means you don't have a large amount of rods open to atmosphere getting damp, so if you want you can simply open up and go. Of course that being said, its always better to heat the rods up and I do it in an old storable pizza oven I was given and which I keep on my welding trolley. One day I might buy a heated welding box.So, good rods at a sensible price you can afford to buy for home use.

99.9 % of what I buy from AMAZON is good but this is a good lesson on what not to buy if I had took a coat hanger out of the wardrobe it would have Done a better weld

I found the sweet spot on these near straight away 60amp DCEP and when you finish the flux nails and lifts i love these will be buying more id rather get in mini packs to safe weight when carrying my welder around

Very easy to weld with. Great for tacing, not the rod to use for anything structural or of significant weight bearing, however great for learning the basics of welding or small hobby type jobs.

These rods are ok, not particularly exceptional although very competitively priced. Weld finish was reasonably good, slag not particularly easy to remove.
