cuts good, fits in hands well
i do not know how it works when having to line up for hole punching in a specific spot, but it works great for punching holes. i have tried it on paper, thick card and even 2 layers of thick cardboard and it cut through them with ease. also, not being of the tiny hand brigade (some of us ladies have big hands and long fingers--don't get me started on ladies gloves! ), i found this fits well in my hands with out feeling like it is going punch a hole in the middle of my hand before it ever does the paper. i like the you choose whether to do the hole deep or shallow (from the edge). i like it so far--whether i will like it when having to align holes is a different matter all together.

Sturdy Single Hole Punch
Good quality punch and able to cut into the specified amount of pages but it’s difficult to line up accurately where the hole will cut. I’ve found it easier to use upside down.

Easy to use, well made.
I had a previous punch that was very narrow and awkward to hold. This required a great deal of pressure to create a hole on a few sheets. This punch fits snugly in the hand and doesn’t require a lot of strength to operate. Should have bought one sooner!

Great tool and a brilliant tip!
Bought this to replace my old Rapesco 25 single hole punch that I've had for a long time ( about 15 years ) It still works but I think the cutter is getting blunt. This new one is an absolute cracker of a tool! It cuts through seven sheets of 230 gram double sided gloss photo paper with no effort at all. (Calendars, six pages plus front cover) It also goes through seven 210 gram matte paper which has been laminated, also with no effort! I read the reviews for this cutter where I picked up the best tip I have EVER got. Like everyone else I find the most fiddly part of calendar making is getting the holes to line up. No matter how carefull you are you cannot see where the cutting blade is!, and my old cutter would not cut more than two laminated sheets at once ( the throat was narrow) But, a reviewer casually dropped this little gem into his review, remove the plate below the waste box, use the device upside down and you can then see your mark and align the cutter with it - result, perfectly aligned holes!!!!! So simple yet so brilliant an idea. You wonder why YOU never thought about it! So to that reviewer I send my heartfelt thanks. AFTERTHOUGHT Why don't Rapesco solve this problem by making the waste box cover in hard clear plastic ?

Great in theory but not practical
I was so disappointed with this. It's well made, and substantial. It will punch through several papers at once, and is so comfortable to use. I had a lot of punching to do somwas reall looking forward to receiving this, but in all honesty, no matter how well made it is, it's essentially useless. If it doesn't matter where you need the hole it's fine, but if you need the hole to be in a specific spot it's practically impossible to see where the punch is going to go through the paper. I need to look into sending it back as it's really not fit for purpose :(

Saves time
This punch is sturdy and it will take 7 sheets of photographic paper of 220gsm paper in one go. It is best used I find upside down on the rear of the side you are using where you can easily see the metal slot o n the side where the punched hole will come down. That is how I find it easiest to judge the hole punch area before using. It is ideal for home made calendars etc. Good value and worth having.
