Sophia Loren: Movie Star Italian Style (Turner Classic Movies) Hardcover – Illustrated, September 26, 2017

It could have been a great book, however, the lack of any real information of film details other than a brief synopsis (one or two paragraphs, three at best) with usually one or two pictures - sometimes a full page photo. Some her earlier films don't even warrant a photo. The first half of the book is biography, the last is the films. There's really very little that hasn't been covered in the several biographies (including her recent autobiography) with much, much more greater detail. What we really have then is a photo book... there are some very beautiful full page photos of her in black and white and in color - many of them previously published before - and smaller candid style ones. Why keep the book? It is the only recent book that (to date) goes into her LATER FILMS from mid 70"s and on, and a few really beautiful full page photos). Maybe one day we will have a book similar to "Harlow in Hollywood" . It seems to have been a "rush" job - nicely produced - but really not deserving of probably the greatest International Film Star that existed with the possible exception of Garbo or Dietrich and Sophia's career is still active going strong for over 65 years.

I liked this book a lot. It offers a nice package of information. Plus, there are plenty of beautiful photographs, some of them really rare.

This book on Sophia Loren was a Christmas gift for my dad, and he absolutely loves it. It has plenty of information about Sophia, and plenty of beautiful color photos of her. This book is my dad's most favorite Christmas gift. You won't be disappointed with this book.

Sophia é reconhecida por sua beleza, mas sua atuação não fica para trás. Os meus filmes favoritos com ela (ainda não vi todos, mas o livro me incentiva a buscar os outros) são Duas Mulheres, El Cid e Aconteceu em Nápoles. Uma grande atriz na história do cinema italiano! O livro é cheio de fotografias e toda a cinematografia da atriz, divirtam-se!!
