NikwaxTent and Gear Solarproof Spray-On Tent Waterproofer

We had an incident where we packed away a wet tent ( a no no I know) and unfortunately after some more bad weather we were unable to air it out for a week! This meant that there was a few mildew spots when taking it out but this solar wash sorted it right out and they came out brilliantly! My tent now looks and smells clean and refreshed and I bought the solar proof to use after aswell!The product comes with a sprayer which works brilliantly and the product goes far! For a 6 man tent I used about 1 litre of product!

I used the product to re waterproof my old gazebo canopy. It worked a treat. We used a old paintbrush to spread evenly on the canopy. It took 2 people to do the job.

Easy to use and very effective.

Sprayed on over canvas roofing, now no drips on the underside, and roof drains so much better.

Bought the 2.5l version to deal with a 20ft x 10ft gazebo. It comes with its own pump and the instructions say to wet fabric and then spray evenly. That quantity is (by manufacturer's literature)only just enough to do this job.However: the pump/spray worked ok but it is impossible to get an even spread on a very large area. So I sprayed anyway and then smoothed over with a soft brush on an extension. (Note: the brush will get waterproofed too!) This produced an even coating and after removing excess it was left to dry. By using this method I actually used a lot less than the manufacturers predict.Drying is quite fast in reasonable weather and a brief shower the following day showed the fabric to be pretty well waterproof.There was enough liquid left to re-wax my wax jacket using the same technique which now seems ok, and there is still enough left for other jobs.Beware: The finished article needs to breathe for quite a while as the smell of the liquid can give eye irritation. Ideally leave a tent or bit of clothing outside in fresh air for a day or two before bringing inside or packing up.Overall well satisfied.

Ottimo prodotto e ottimo rapporto prezzo risultatoIo l'ho utilizzato sulla tenda da sole a rullo che abbiamo dovuto sostituire lo scorso anno ma che purtroppo per averle uguali alle altre non era impermeabilizzata.La tenda lunga circa 6 x 5 metri (tipo veranda)Ho fatto così:1) l'ho srotolata completamente, poi ho incominciato a pulire con idropulitrice, man mano che pulivo da bagnata, la arrotolavo2) una volta che l'avevo pulita completamente, la srotolavo 50/60 cm per volta e spruzzavo Nikwax (il bidoncino ti arriva corredato da spruzzatore)3) attendi due minuti e poi toglievo eccesso con un mocio bagno e ben strizzato4) srotolavo altri 50/60 cm, rispruzzavo Nikwax, attendevo 2 minuti, toglievo l'eccesso; e così via tutta la tenda5) ho fatto così tutta la tenda, srotolandola tutta6) finito la tenda, ho aspettato una mezz'oretta per l'asciugatura completa (dipende dal clima)7) l'ho ribagnata sempre con l'idropulitrice ma con un getto più delicato, e man mano la riarrotolavo8) una volta bagnata e riarrotolata tutta, ho dato la seconda mano come sopra (v.punto 2)Il risultato è quello sperato.Per fare questo lavoro, eravamo in due e ci abbiamo messo 2 ore e mezza.Il telo non ha cambia colore, ha un'ottima resistenza all'acqua, non gocciola più sotto e non si creano più le pozze di acquaArrivato prima dei tempi di consegna previsti!
