Great intro to neurodiversity
Great introduction to neurodiversity, bought for my children who are neurodiverse themselves but was struggling to accept it.

Perfect. Wish I had found it sooner.
This is an excellent book to help neurodiverse youngsters understand themselves and deal with what can be a rather difficult world as they are growing up. Once they understand the message(s) in this book it should help to boost their self-esteem and self-awareness.I love the fact that it has enough text to get the important points over, well broken up by illustrations and a bit of humour. Although it mentions famous neurodiverse people who have achieved "great things", this is not laboured - in other words, it is not likely to leave a neurodiverse child wondering why they don't have a superpower!I think it would be an excellent resource for stimulating discussions between children and their parents - or even their siblings and friends. Difficult to suggest a suitable age range, as everyone is different but I think reading age 7-11, perhaps?

5 stars from mt 5 year old boy
My son was thrilled to find out an interesting fact in this book, that the creator of pokemon, his special interest, is on fact autistic too!

Meh
Kind of disappointed in this. I'm an autistic teaching assistant looking for something that i can use to present Neurodiversity to the children in a primary classroom. This wasn't it.It's very wordy, and kind of defines things without really explaining how that affects people and what others can do to be more inclusive. The worst part is the page where it describes a few succesful people without naming them, stating their neurodivergence. (Presumably because they didn't have legal permission to name them. Which makes me question if it's okay to include them by such obvious hints.)Neurodiversity is not just about celebrating those who have worldly success. It's about embracing people of all neurotypes, including those with learning disabilities, including those who can't survive this world without full time support. I can see that the intentions of this book are fantastic, but it's not quite what I needed to explain my own neurodivergence and why some of their classmates don't speak or behave differently.

Couldn't make a better book!!!
Brilliant tone, friendly voice, celebrated what's special and positive about each person, easy language!I've used this with my child to share what's special about each person in my child's class, and I've used this at work (in a school) to celebrate uniqueness and diversity.Absolutely my favourite book on this topic.N.B. also had a copy where the publisher had accidentally inserted another book in the centre, which made for a strange but fun read too!

Both my children found it really helpful! As a professional working with autistic clients, professionals and parents i will be highly recommending this fantastic resource! It’s an easy read, with clear illustrations. Most importantly it’s written by a neurodivergent author with lived experience 💚
