A great history of a much told tale. Nicely penned and seems authentic.
A very interesting and well-constructed book. Heavy on detail and an absorbing read. Don't expect a lot of great photos though, you need something by Dave Friedman for that but as an entertaining and informative read with details you may not have heard before this book is spot-on. Most enjoyable if you are fascinated by this unique Anglo-American story. Three cheers for Ken Miles!

Without a doubt the most enjoyable motorsports book I've read
The author really did his homework, clearly a labor of love. Well written, a breeze to read. Full of juicy detail, much of it directly from the men (and women) involved. I grew up in L.A., idolized these guys, and here they really come to life.

Relive the glory years.
Easily one of the most readable and revealing of the many books on the legend that was Shelby American. Highly recommended.

Great story about a dynamic organization's trajectory
I felt like have had a vested interest in this story as the owner of a 66 Shelby Mustang (6S1801 since 69). There have been lots of books, magazine articles, organizations (SAAC) and tribal folklore about this company but I thoroughly enjoyed the comprehensive story presented by the author. His treatment and documentation gives a fairly detailed view of the process that propelled Shelby into what we have come to know. The fact that there were so many contributing factors coming in at different times is really appreciated when viewed as a timeline. Because of the individual successes that Shelby had, many of the stories we have tend to cherry-pick a particular success. This lays out the organization's trajectory and talks about the hits and near-misses.

Best way to learn about Carroll Shelby and the other important persons who made great race cars!
I really enjoyed reading this Kindle book. Shelby started his company in August of 1962 and built some of the greatest race cars in the USA. The book includes some great photos of the race cars his company created. A great bibliography is included. This book is worth your time to read if you are serious about learning what Carroll Shelby and his employees created and their contribution to global auto racing history.
