I am a nurse and I bought this item as I was having open heart surgery and needed support for my sternum incision post op. It is comfortable, easy to put on, adjustable, soft but sturdy. Love the pockets for putting iPhone in and Kleenex. It was nice to have it on in bed as I felt safe and secure with the support. The purple colour is fantastic as well! Great product for post chest surgery I highly recommend!

I bought the version with the included cold pack and the seatbelt cover. The cold pack was useless. It's quite thin, and with the fabric pocket, and of course the clothing I was wearing, I felt no cooling at all. I did not find the pillow useful for around the house. If I was going to be in a crowd, I'd definitely want the protection. I used it when riding in the car. Much better than the regular bed pillow I used to come home from the hospital: the seatbelt didn't feel secure with that at all. The mastectomy pillow was much better - it's short enough that the lap belt fits securely below the bottom edge. It does not protect the breasts quite as comfortably as that bed pillow does, but did well enough. The seatbelt wrap is helpful when driving. Not as good as the actual pillow, which would be too much in the way while trying to operate the car, but definitely better than nothing. I may keep using it even after I'm recovered. It does prevent the seatbelt from retracting - that's going to be an issue with anything like this.

I used this after a breast reduction, and I loved it. I have a rowdy dog, so it gave me security against accidental scratches and such. I loved sleeping with it and tucking the sides down under my armpits so it felt like a hug. I loved that security. It also has lots of pockets for your earbuds, remote, meds, phone, etc. For example, I had to keep my next dose of pain meds with me because I couldn't reach out for anything in the middle of the night when it was too painful to sit myself up. I used this for about 3 weeks and loved it. If I recommend anything for post op, it's this and a u-shaped pregnancy pillow. Absolutely recommend both, 1,000%. The only thing I didn't like is the ice pack. It was so thin that it thawed immediately. I bought better ones from Amazon so I could rotate through them while some were in the freezer.
