The Batman Adventures Omnibus

Massive fan of Batman the animated series so there was no way I wasn't going to get this.Great artwork and stories. If you loved the animated series then you'll love this too.

I bought these volumes following a rewatch of the animated series (my first since watching it as a kid) and it's fantastic how these stories slip straight back into that world. For those looking for something a bit more light-hearted and nostalgic of 90s era Batman than your Frank Miller or Alan Moore, these volumes are a perfect choice. It's very apparent that these were written by the storytellers of the animated series and the art style effortlessly matches the cartoon too (at least the earlier series). As a fan of most things Batman, including the darker takes on the story, it's sometimes nice to slip into reading something a bit more easy-going with a keen sense of fun. This volume offers that in spade loads. Great for casual reading on a night shift at work or on a train.

This was my introduction to comics, chosen because I loved the animated series growing up. It's a great read, true to the show & the artwork is fab!

There was a period in the early 90's when Batman Adventures was the best monthly Batman comic out there. With beautiful artwork and simple straight forward stories, it's hard not to recommend this book.

Batman Adventures follows the Batman Animated Series TV series, these volumes they've rereleased are a must for any Batman fan or any one who watched this award winning show!

I used to buy these (apparently for 60p!) when I was 10 or 11 back in the 90’s. This is a great collection (along with volumes 2, 3 and 4, plus Mad Love) bringing together all of the issues I remember and some I don’t. I remember every line of dialogue, every bit of art, it’s great to see again. To clear a couple of things up - yes, this is the comic series from the 90’s. The blank speech bubbles on page 133 are supposed to be there, as Bruce and Dick are talking in the foreground and Bullock is saying something unimportant to a colleague in the background. The pages are not glossy unfortunately (blacks aren’t as deep for example). If you check out Mad Love, you can see what this could have been. But nonetheless, the stories and the artwork are still excellent and you get 10 or so issues in one volume. Recommended.

Arrived in 3 days, awesome omnibus, if you like the bat you need it.
