This device is very easy to install and yet effective. It does not come with any instruction, but I don't need any instruction anyway. It is so simple that I can almost install it blind folded. When I bought my house with a swimming pool, the door was already gone, and I have no idea what brand or model it takes, and all models online don't seem to fit in the hinges, only this one is so clever that it fits any model (as long as the dimensions are right). I finally have a skimmer that works properly, and my pool is now much cleaner than before. Thank you! Now the only question left is: How long will this thing last? Update: Since the springs are not too strong, the door will be pushed out of position after a week or so, but no big deal, just push it back.

Loose fit had to make it work, does the job

The spring is not strong enough to hold this in place when there are a lot of waves (such as when kids are jumping off the diving board). One side slides up so the door gets crooked and it will no longer open and close correctly. Every time kids use the pool, I have to reach in the skimmer and push the weir door back into place. So I removed it today to replace it with a weir door that screws in. When I removed it, I saw that after just 1 week, the spring was getting rusty (see picture). Obviously not a stainless steel spring. I doubt that it would have lasted a whole year.

Easy install. Works perfect as replacement for factory part.

Don't fit as said

Out of the box this did no work for my pool although the dimensions matched exactly. Upon investigation i found that the internal pressure spring would sink too far into the PVC tubing sections. I resolved this issue simply by shaving down the end caps on the 2 PVC tubes and inserted them reversed so the end caps would act as stopping buffers to prevent the spring from entering the tubes. This increased the distance the the tubes extended out from the weir thus increasing spring tension. I installed the wier and it appears to be holding up well. I believe this product would benefit from including additional spacers or tubing to accommodate a more varying range of customer's needs. This could potentially reduce the return rate.
