Too small for normal size council bins.
These are good enough pins, but are far too small for my bin. (I couldn’t measure the previous pins before purchase as they were missing.)(Description says these are made of wood for some reason. They are plastic.)The measurements are as the picture. They fit some bins, if other reviews are to go by, but they are far too small for the ‘normal’ sized council bins that I have. For a fiver this was worth a shot in the dark, but I’ll need to look elsewhere.

Fixed my Wheely Bin Lid
The hinge pin had broken off my Wheely Bin.These spare hinge pins saved me £38 for a new bin.Perfect replacement and fitted in minutes.

Easy to fit.
Please note that the 15mm diameter refers to the compression end, the shaft is 12mm diameter. It fits a 12mm hole easily. If you have a broken pin still in the hole the drive it into the bin handle first. Does the job well.

Saved me £50+!
Yes that is what my Local Authority (Enfield) want for a replacement blue bin.Had to make a couple of adjustments by using washers (see pic) to increase its width and shave a bit from the pin. I probably overdid that a bit, but have the other pin in reserve should it fail. It survived today's collection. But overall I don't feel I should deduct any stars as the end result, with that saving, makes it all positive for me!

Too small for a standard size bin
I am missing a hinge pin on my main waste bin and I thought that these would fit as there are only two sizes available on Amazon and I bought this set as a review on the other pins available said that they where not the right size for the UK.These pins that I bought are way too small for my standard size bin and I now regret not measuring the hole first as I wrongly assumed that there would be a standard size for all bins of this type (SO BEWARE). I have since measured the hole and it is 20mm across. It is extremely disappointing that other sizes are not available on Amazon and I cannot find them on the B&Q website (I don't know where else to look). It is also unfortunate that Sheffield City Council will not supply me with a pin either given to me or sold to me.The Council department who deal with bins would only offer to supply me with a completely new replacement bin and charge me £20 for it which is ridiculous as there is nothing else wrong with the bin!

I knew it was going to be too small, ...
I knew it was going to be too small, but I couldn't find one the right size so I thought I would give it a try. It was too narrow, but I wrapped enough gaffer tape around it to give a tight fit and hammered it in, leaving about half an inch projecting, since the cap is too small too. It does the job now.

Wrong item ordered
I accidentally ordered the wrong size pins! An after emailing Builder Merchant they were very understanding and refunded my money. 5 stars as I thought their customer service was fantastic.

Does the job.
Great plastic hinge pins fitted our wheelie bin. Replaced the pin that somehow had gone missing. Good quality.
