Hercules XPS 2.0 80 DJ Monitor Speakers

Firstly, I'm not using these as they really were built to be used. I have them either side of my computer about two feet away from me.The sound quality is awesome. There's far more volume than I'll ever be able to use and they still produce clear sounds as loud as I've managed to handle.They look pretty sharp too, the wooden cabinets are not exactly the finest mahogany but with the bright cones and the shiny plastic surrounds, the whole thing looks good. If you have space on a desk for them (they're not that small) they instantly become a bit of cool feature.I saw someone else complain about the transformer hum. This is noticeable when they are turned on but as soon as there is any music playing - it's gone.This does bring me to my only negative - the power switch is on the back and not especially accessible. If there was a power switch on the front or no transformer hum, these would have got 5 stars, but having to dig around the back of them to kill the hum is annoying.

I'm loving these monitors so far. I bought them specifically to run my new Nord Stage piano and they do a pretty good job. If I really drive them hard, then I do get a bit of distortion at the top end, but then drop in the compressor/limiter on the Stage and that problem is solved. As an added bonus, with jack and phono inputs, I can run the Stage plus a laptop through them at the same time. Sound is rich and warm with clean bass and bright trebles. For this price point in the market, I don't think you'll find any better. To get the extra headroom you'd need to go up 2 or 3 price points probably.

I bought these monitor speakers to record music in a home set up, and they provide me with everything i need and more! they are very clear with a good bass response. very crisp highs and mids too. i bought these on amazon prime day for about £70 (bargain!) but i would pay the full price for them.the only drawback i have is that they can distort a little at FULL volume because the bass is quite heavy even with the bass turned down, so for this i only rated 4 stars. but for anyone looking for a nice home set up wether it be for recording/production or DJ'ing, as they suggest, these monitors do no miss a beat!

awful, first set major buzz / hum in one speaker, replacement second set louder buzz / hum in one and one not working at all! .. avoid

After spending a full week trawling through various DJ sites and reading endless amount of reviews, I came across these little beauty's! For £129 you will not get much (if at all) better in this price range. You get two (well packaged) very well made, stylish speakers, that come with all cables necessary to get you started. I got these monitors, as after 20yrs (jeez!) I have decided to start Dj'in again. Dusted off my Hi-Vis vest, got the glow sticks out of the freezer, put on my raving shoes and boarded the plane ;0)Set up out of the box was very straight forward and connected to my Numark controller with no problems at all. For self powered (Active) speakers, they have a sweet kick, good clarity and a nice mid range. They also have an aux input on the front, which a few may find very helpful.Overall, for their size, these are competent little powered monitors, you couldn't use them to do a house party (well, you could try but maybe better for the chill out room) but they are a great all-round speaker for DJ practice and computer audio ( I initially plugged my blackberry into the speakers using the mini jack / 2RCA cable provided and was pleasantly surprised by the outcome ).Top one, Nice one, Get sorted!

I bought these to connect to my laptop and get a better amplified sound. I am happy with the sound, but not all musical genres sound great on them. Heavy rock or metal sounds awful, in my opinion. But any pop/rock/jazz or movie sounds great. You can also connect them to your ipad/iphone and play your favourite music/radio station. At present, I have them connected to my TV and overall quite happy with the purchase.

First of all well done Amazon!! I ordered it Sunday night and the next day Monday I got it!! And this was the free delivery option! So thanks for that but let's now get on the review.. When I first got it i was able to set it up within minutes since they already have wires for the speakers. All easy. Next I tried the sound and... TOP NOTCH sound came out! It's so clear and makes you want to dance! I currently DJ at small places so these are perfect for what I need. Great design and great sound to top of the review! - Also you don't actually need theses for DJing they can just be used for movies and games etc.. Great product 100/100 :)

I've never owned another pair of monitors, so I have nothing to compare them to. These produce really good sound quality and are definitely worth the money.Having house mates that don't really like dance music I love to turn them up just to be sure they can all hear it. I wouldn't be surprised if the neighbours can hear it too.So if you are considering getting them then just do it and you won't be disappointed.They also come with all the connections you need to connect it to either a set of decks or to a 3.5mm headphone socket on either iPods or laptops
