The only hose-end sprayer that works!
In the past I have used the non-"pro" Chapin hose end sprayers (i've had a couple of them over the years - they break, clog, or otherwise stop working after a while.) They were always flakey. Sometimes I would spend 1/2 an hour spraying only to realize that the product in the container had hardly gone down at all! So I'd basically been spraying water the whole time. An earlier Chapin had a bottle that came unscrewed so easily that once or twice it fell off during use. The cheaper Chapin's had good features, but poor execution. Previously I had also used another brand (dont recall which) but it wasnt sufficiently adjustable.I was reluctant to buy another Chapin, but decided to try this one before giving up. Wow. What a difference. I cant believe this is a product of the same company. It works! It works really well. It has never clogged, the mix rate appears to be correct and consistent. It sprays evenly, and distributes a lot of spray/water mix quickly. The bottle swivels, so if you turn the unit left or right to get spray into different areas of a plant, the bottle remains vertical so the feed tube remains in the mix. It is also so much sturdier than the other units, and I like the spray-trigger much more than the on/off switch on the plastic unit. Its useability and features are completely different (which takes some getting use to, but I have decided this units features are superior.) Truly this product must have been designed and produced by a different company. There is no comparison. The only thing is that now I am sad that I wasted so many hours over so many years using the cheap-ass plastic sprayers that basically barely work. If you do any amount of spraying at all, this is the only hose end sprayer to buy. Period. The rest are a joke. There is one weirdness that I cannot fathom. You can set the spray rate to anywhere from 1 to 7 or 10 tablespoons (or teaspoons). Why not 8. Previously I had products that I sprayed at a rate of 8 Tbs/gal. Why not 1-10? If they couldnt do 1 through 10, why provide 7? What uses 7? Seven doesnt divide anything useful. Why not 1-6 and then 8 and 10. That would be useful. Not the end of the world, I just had to redo some math on a mixture to use 10Tbs instead of 8Tbs. Its just weird.

So far, after several uses, this sprayer has worked perfectly for me.
I've used this sprayer and others like it professionally for over a decade as part of my roof and exterior cleaning side business. They are amazing tools once you open your mind to the various solutions you have at your fingertips. My last Chapin hose end sprayer like this was purchased in 2017. It still worked, but the dial stopped turning and I couldn't properly adjust the mix ratio. But using this around liquid bleach, I'm surprised it lasted that long. After I bought this new hose end sprayer, I was able to free the dial on the previous, so it's back in service as a backup.I have extensive professional experience with these types of sprayers, and I’ve found creative ways to utilize them! Let’s break down some of the key points:1. Multiple Settings for Application: Having different settings for application is crucial, especially when dealing with various products. Whether it’s surfactants/soaps, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or fertilizers, having the flexibility to adjust the spray pattern and flow rate ensures efficient and effective coverage.2. The black plastic deflector creates a fan spray, or you can remove this deflector to get extra reach with a jet stream to reach peaks of houses or into tree tops.3. Lawn Care and Pest Control: It’s empowering that you can take pest control into your own hands. Applying pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides to your entire lawn allows you to tailor the treatment precisely. Plus, as a lawn care nerd, I use this to apply the liquid chelated iron for that lush green color. I literally applied this chelated iron a few hours ago. I applied pesticides several weeks ago, fungicides in spring, and pre-emergent herbicides in late winter and fall.4. Roof and Exterior Cleaning: As a roof and exterior cleaning professional, I can tell you I know hundreds of professionals that have valuable uses for these sprayers. I use this sprayer and add my professional-grade surfactants to lift contaminants from the surfaces of my vinyl siding home when I do not need bleach to remove algae. This is a smart approach. Best of all, when I’m done, I can pour the undiluted surfactants back into their original containers. Since one of these professional surfactants is $190 per gallon, it saves me a lot of money versus diluting this surfactant into my 50-gallon chemical tank. Every professional roof and exterior cleaning company I know of uses these types of sprayers frequently.Dislikes:- The yellow handle on this model is smaller and less comfortable than my previous Chapin hose end sprayer. I have large hands though, wearing a XXL nitrile glove, and I could easily wear a XXXL glove. This isn't a big deal since I just squeeze the handle and lock it open.Likes:- You have a small opening to add/remove products to spray with the black screw on lid, as well as a large opening by removing the yellow screw on lid.- You have multiple settings for application. There is a reduction nozzle on top that allows you to apply products at a lower rate.- I can apply pesticides to my entire lawn. The two pest control companies I used in the past refused to treat my lawn. The pesticide they spray on my house is a thin stream, but when I read the label PDF for that product, they should be spraying at least 2 feet up the side of the house and at least 3 feet out into the lawn, so that thin stream is just eye candy for the customers, or in my specific case. Needless to say, I fired my pest control company and I do this myself, just better. Since I fired my pest control company, I no longer have roaches crossing my lawn from the nearby woods to be pests in my home. I no longer deal with flying/biting bugs when I'm in the backyard.- I apply pesticides, fungicides, pre and post emergent herbicides, fungicides, and at times foliar applications for water soluble fertilizers. I'm simply a lawn care nerd that does his own pest control, and this metered hose end sprayer makes it quick and simple. One bonus to this sprayer is the others I used had 16-ounce tanks, and this has a 32-ounce tank. When I mix my products that have a thick viscosity, I can add water so I can better apply these products. If I’m applying a pesticide and know I need 10 ounces to cover my lawn, I can fill the rest with water to reduce the viscosity and the product will flow easily. If I’m spraying the liquid iron, I fill the bottle, spray the required amount, and if I am a little over or under, I can finish without refilling. When I’m done, I return the liquid to the original container.I did see some photos of broken lids in the other reviews, and if I have a problem, I'll come back and let you know.

Well designed but a little tricky
Sprayer sure beats the heck out of the hose-end bottles that come on the commercial weed killer product. Several times I've spent an hour or more with those spraying the lawn and ending up with the bottle still full of weed killer product. All I did was water my lawn; no weeds killed. With its standard style water nozzle and multiple screw on caps, this sprayer is a little bit tricky to get attached to the hose, but it gives you several options so once you get the hang of it, it works well. And, with the clear bottle, you can see that the weed killer liquid has been sprayed out on the lawn. The water nozzle is comfortable to hold for an extended period, which is important for a person like me with arthritis in his hands. It sprays a nice arc that reaches far out away from you. Also, the bottle itself swings on the connector keeping it upright even if you turn the sprayer nozzle sideways to reach a certain spot. Seems like a well-designed, reliable product.

I will be buying a second sprayer, very pleased.
Works as advertised.Has nice range to reach top of fruit trees. Meter works well for mixing chemicals.Has 2 spray patterns if you pull nozzle attachment or reverse . It can also be used to spray on house siding.Easy to attach to hose.I’ve purchased other brands in past that leaked and or broke after 1-2 uses. This product t is well made and in my opinion a good value. I will be ordering a second one for separate uses.
