Does this lock in place without using the key? One part of description says 'push to lock' but another part says 'push then lock using the key'.

If you are fitting the device on the inside of a building you only need to depress the plunger, because nobody outside can lift the plunger that fits into the surround to the door or window that is being secured. If, however the device is being used on the outside of an entrance, then once the plunger is depressed the key action to lock the plunger needs to be undertaken. Once the plunger is depressed it can only be lifted by manual action.

Can these be fitted on a sliding uPVC door

Due to the fitting, I do believe this to only be suitable for metal and wood doors. Once you have pierced the plastic on double glazing, it invalidates the Waranty and also the insulation rating. Many thanks,

Drill the head off then remove the old lock and remove the screw shank with mole grips or pliers
