ok ish
I have an adult hybrid bicycle and the metal link was too small to put round my handlebar, I am going to see if I can find an alternative way to put it on. with the regards to the sound, it certainly sounds like a horn , I would say it is medium loud. It would not work with lots of cars. at a bush I can use it on my bike on a rural bend and back it up with hi viz and ligbts. it is not one of these patheitc toy ones

Makes people think they are being pursued by a giant duck
This is perfect for the job - as it emits an unpleasant rasping honk at around 120db.Particularly well-made for cycling along canal towpaths and startling joggers wearing earbuds, leaving them with the knee-jerk reaction (literally) that they are being pursued by a giant duck.Or possibly an outsized cormorant, or any of the common wading fowl.May also be good for old-fashioned circus clown usage, but it is difficult to assess this, given it is not my chosen profession and openings for this work are rare nowadays.I also don't have perfect pitch but I would estimate the tone emitted is somewhere in 500-1000Hz range with a subtle yet pleasing flattening of the note as the rubber is gradually depressed.I would not hesitate to recommend this product - it is the very powerhouse of hooter-age compared to those weedy ping-ping bells favoured by most of the cycling 'community'.

Not very loud too bog for my handlebars
I bought the Trixes Retro Bike Horn as the reviews said it is loud. I have tested it and frankly it isnt. Also its quite big. I couldn't get it to fit on my handle bars. I took it to a professional bike repair expert. It took him nearly ten minutes to fit it, so I could still (just about) change my gears safely when riding. So, I would not recommend Trixies Retro Bicycle horn/bugle hooter.

Works but rusts
It certainly alerts people that you are cycling but after almost a year of use it's completely rusted.

Excellent value reliable product
I chose this cycle horn over the more expensive products not only for it's simplicity and appealing appearance, but also for the fact it requires virtually no maintenance and should work well for many years. I also like the fact it is easy to use without needing to take your eyes of the road. It fits fine on my mountain bike handle bars without being intrusive and does indeed produce a good loud honk which should be audible enough when the situation arises, although probably not quite loud enough for use in noisy traffic.
