Full time welder/fabricator.
Like anything from makita, they work brilliantly.. As far as it going blunt after 2 dozen cuts of 40 box, That person must have been really forcing it through the steel, making it get too hot and in turn blunting the teeth far too quickly. Like any saw you use, You must let the saw do the cutting, steady downward pressure and the blade lasts a very long time. I bought 2 blades back in December and I have only just finished using the second one, that's one blade every 3 month, and I'm a full time welder/fabricator that uses the chop saw everyday, and I have made hundreds of cuts with each blade, cutting everything from 3mm flat bar up to 16mm solid square bar, and they performed floorless.. I could continue to use the blades but they are at the point of me having to force them through the material, and as anyone knows a blunt blade is a dangerous blade..

Allow it to cut at its own pace.
Used for cutting steel tubing. Gives a nice clean edge, burr free. No finishing to the edges required. Much better than an abrasive disc. Allow it to cut at its own pace, dont force it. You should get a good duration out of the blade if you look after it.

Only use with LS1230 saw
These blades are awesome, I do a LOT of steel fabrication and make 1000’s of cuts, these are real game changer ITS IMPORTANT that you use the Makita LS1230 Saw as its has a slower RPM, if you use this blade with a standards Makita Cut Off saw it will just burn the blade out, I can only assume the negative feedbacks was due to this
