You must watch it......simply excellent.
I nearly didn't watch this, as i just assumed WRONGLY it was a story about bringing back fashion in Paris after the war. Boy was I wrong. From the start to the finish i was totally hooked.Yes it has fashion, and pretty feminine ladies, but the story behind the scenes is full of intrigue, treason, murder, collaboration, and so much more.I really really really hope there will be a season 2, i so want to see what happens next.8 episodes all of them excellent. Oh and the joy of seeing Frances de la Tour once again in an Amazon series, she is so dark and mysterious as the mother of the Sabine brothers...... I loved her character one of my favorite English actresses who can put her hand to anything, comedy or drama. Please watch this series, and review as the more people who do it the more likely we will see the second part in production.

Very beautiful towatch
Very beautiful to watch, most pictures are a painting. Gentle pace to set the scene and develop the undercurrent of the characters, with some great, subtle performace. I look forward to more...

Well, the story hasn't exactly gripped, and the characters don't seem remotely Parisian, and some of the actors are odd choices BUT the design team must have had a total ball. Gorgeous frocks in jewel colours set off against a drab background palette are nice enough, but it's the frequent quotation of iconic images by the likes of famous photographers such as Henri Cartier Bresson that give the viewer a game to play that's much more fun than the tedious tribulations of a dour atelier that's somewhat Inglourious-Fight-Club-meets-House-of Elliot.

Perfect mix of intrigue, high fashion, romance and a murder too make the perfect plot
Finally something different. High fashion in Paris in the 1047 period. Full of intrigue, politics and a murder thrown in to make the plot complete.. To this comes romance and all that comes with it. Amazon please keep this type of films up. We need something with style, fashion in this line. I simply cannot watch anymore the extreme violence the modern films are showing. This series is just perfect. Keep it up.

Not one plot line is resolved by the end - what if there is no second season?
I thought this was an OK show. The much-touted visuals were limited, and a lot of effect - such as the B&W photographs were repeated far too often. The sets were good, but the story couldn't make it mind up to be a crime drama or a soap. But the real reason I am bothering to review it is to give a warning. At the time of writing, there is no news either way on a second season, and after watching 8 episodes it was very frustrating to have not one of the several plot lines resolved. Everything was left as a cliff-hanger - which suggests the second season (if it happens at all) will simply be a continuation of the same plots, with little new interest. If a second season doesn't happen, then in terms of feeling any sense of completion after watching, that simply won't happen. So you need to decide if you want to invest the time into watching something where nothing will be resolved in the end.

Brilliant!
Loved every moment of The Collection. The setting, the actors and plot lines are amazing, add to that those wonderful clothes. The story is set in Paris just picking itself up after the war, so there is a hint of mystery as to who did what during the German occupation. Hope it's not too long before the next series.

Not one to miss!
I so LOVED this! The storyline was nail biting to the end. I couldn't believe how I sat through 6 episodes in one sitting. I didn't want it to end. Then finished off the last 2 episodes the very next day at the first free opportunity I had. All the characters played their roles well. If there is a book to this, I'd buy it straight away! It would be wonderful to read their thoughts.I truly hope they make a sequel to this.

A great offering.
Shame the voice over was completely out of synch on the last episode very hard to follow with the voices 30 seconds in advance of the action.A great story the usual fashionable story lines with a strong showing for ethnic and gay inclusions shame there was was no lesbians written in to complete the holy trinity of political correctness. No doubt this will be corrected in the next series if recommissioned. An atmospheric period setting with superb actors.Very enjoyable.
