Amazing value! This is a REALLY big book. You will need a table to put it on, you won't be able to leaf through it on the bus. It is packed full of prints of the most spectacular old poster artwork. If you are into magic, steam-punk, cabaret, old theatre or strange phenomena then you will find a wealth of inspiration in here. You can pore over it for hours.

The package was very poor.The book has its own book case made of hard carton.That was the protection. They throw the book in a box with some space inside.When i received i thought that the book will be destroyed. Thanks God the books case made its job and it was intact!As for the book...its a pieace of wonder! Very Vivid pictures! Its a trip through Magic Time!

Marvellously fascinating book, with gorgeous prints and a thorough historical timeline in the history of magic. A big book that delivers- if it's of any interest buy it!!! And a bigger coffee table to put it on too 🤓

I chose this book for the time period and was very surprised when it arrived - it's huge and really heavy, too big to fit in any bookcase I have, and I have many bookcases. The only way to read this is to use a table or a desk and that is annoying. I probably should have looked at the dimensions before I bought it, but it didn't even occur to me. One of the reasons is that each chapter is in 3 languages, English, German and French. Having said all that it is beautifully illustrated and is great value for money. Each chapter is written by someone who is clearly an expert in their chosen period and I learned a lot from it. I would recommend this book to anyone with an interest in the subject, just find a very large bookcase to keep it in!

When this book first came out it was larger format but nearly £100. This new edition is a smaller format BUT STILL BIG! It is a wonderfully produced book full of great information and at the price Amazon is charging at the time this review was written (under £30) really good value. Highly recommended to those who are interested in the history of the craft of magic. Well researched and written by authors who definitely know their stuff and a superb selection of posters and prints reproduced largely from their own collections. A book to dip in and out of for many years.

Its a massive book, it looks so impressive I might have so give it to myself for Christmas. I haven't opened the wrapper on it yet.It is probably the largest single book I have ever bought.

This is fantastic , i wish i had bought it first time around. The book is stunning i really don't have any more to say exept just buy it at this price it is a real bargain.
