Forget a proper scope, this is better
These great little units are night and day compared to an old fashioned oscilloscope. Initial setup is 5 minutes and the software interface is intuitive. There are pre built data blocks for decoding serial devices such as can bus, rs485 etc. It's usb powered and can be used everywhere. I have used this on stepper motors, encoders, canbus systems, modbus rtu decoding and re-pagaging using custom software. I initially bought for work then ended up buying a few for personal use at home to decide some one-line comms from diesel heaters! The function list is great, and the scaling is always set pretty good with little adjustment needed. Good tool for anything from casual DIY to industrial communication reverse engineering.

Picoscope 2004A
Although this is the entry level 2004A Picoscope it is small fairly powerful piece of testing equipment at a reasonable price. Have yet to come to terms in using the instrument to find its full capacity of monitoring signals of control circuits in the cars electrics. .Have obtained the downloaded information from Picoscope website which gives good explanations and different test to learn the operation and practical test experience in using the scope, this is very useful to use and learn and full credit to the company for their foresight in supplying this relevant information via Picoscope seven program that can be used on a PC. At the moment very pleased with the product, just purchase test leads to suit for testing the cars signals etc.

Excellent product at reasonable price (2x leads 1/10x included)
As expected, excellent product at reasonable price. More than adequate features for most hobbyist needs and if you need more there are a large variety of different PicoScopes to choose from. Software works well and before you decide to buy PicoScope, you can download the software from PicoScope and run it in demo mode and get familiar with it. Remember to map the features you want to model you purchase. Software is one of the best PC scope apps. [...]

Excellent bit of kit
An excellent piece of kit for me as I'm just a keen amateur. That said, this Picoscope delivers far more than I will ever need. The accuracy is amazing and so easy to use. However, if you want a hard copy manual it's 270 pages - you have been warned!

Great if 8-bit is enough for you
My previous oscilloscope was a CRT Scopex from the last Millenium. This neat little USB-powered device is a wonderful advance from that. The included switchable x1/x10 probes are very professional, with alternative tips and removable ground clips. The software is clear and elegant, with some exotic mathematical combination of signals possible. For testing power supplies and looking for sources of glitches it is great, particularly with the clever time defying trigger modes. But for audio work the 8-bit resolution is limiting. For example the Signal-to-Noise and THD floors are well above what any non-defective HiFi device will deliver (-50dB). The built-in signal generator has the same problem. Zooming in on a signal it is easy to see the castellations caused by the low resolution. I think it is time that a 12-bit device was made available at this price. After all, budget stereo USB audio interfaces now are easily obtainable up to 24-bit. And there are software fft packages such as Voxengo SPAN and SpectraPLUS that give excellent analysis results with one of these.

Brilliant scope for occasional, non taxing hobby electronics.
Brilliant. If you want a simple scope for occasional use this is the way to go. Its obviously not as robust, fast or protected as a proper stand alone scope but its been an enormous help for analising AC and PWM circuits. Simple to use and very clear instructions.

A good scope for beginning with and excellent software and customer support

Works well
I have another pico scope that is much more powerful but also much more expensive. Both work great and this little one does well for the price

This is the first time I'm working with an PC oscilloscope. The reason I did choose this one is it's excellent functionality compared to its price, good set of accessories and the software which works on Linux and Mac (although I, personally, don't need this one), not just Windows. Although there are some unimportant glitches in Linux software it is nothing too annoying and especially problematic, and they amount to almost nothing if you take into account it is a Beta version of the software. Take note, that despite the Linux software marked for usage in Ubuntu 18.04 it still works just as fine in Ubuntu 16.04. The set of accessories includes 2 probes with 1x-10x built-in switchable attenuators and color marks, you may place on probes to differentiate between the channels. The probes are easy to use and they'll help you make your hands and eyes free for what is really important. As for what I bought it for - I'm a little tired of just programming everyday, so I decided to play a little with an old sound amplifier that stopped working a few months ago. And of course there are more tasks it is great for, and I think I'll find much more applications in the future. As for the price - yes, you can find an PC oscilloscope that costs less, yet will it have 2 channels, generator, 2 probes of very good quality and software for platforms outside the typical Windows? No? Then you'll need to by Windows too, which will make the total you pay at least twice as much as this little one costs. Of course it is not much of a bother if you already have Windows. Those are all pros, as for contras - they're really all just my little mistakes that are easy to fix: 1) It's maximum input range is 20V and there are probes with 10x built-in attenuators, yet it is still not enough for some obvious use cases (for example I can't check power sources with this range of 200V). So, now I need an additional attenuator. 2) The oscilloscope has 2 channels + generator. It's really a nice feature for fine-tuning of a stereo-amplifier except... for the best result you'll need 3 probes, not 2. And so, now I need 1 additional probe. So, if you decide to buy one, may be it'll be for the best to buy some additional accessories with it so that you'll not be limited when you use this excellent PicoScope 2204A.

pas de soucis particulier sauf éventuellement le géné qui n'envoit pas 2Volt mais plutôt 1.6Volt à 1000hz. Amazopne =>votre obligation de contenu est plus que pénible !
