Wired and wireless connection. Super easy setup.
First I will say it took 3-days on a next day delivery for Amazon to get it delivered even though it was "out for delivery" each day--- each time it was a no show. Ended up calling customer service to lodge a complaint against the delivery company....just not cool. They did follow through and call when they said they would....so half redeeming.Enough of that...As far as the unit....5-min and up and running. I am using it to temporarily supply internet for sites with camera systems for remote access. My caveat is it had to be able to be a wired connection, not only wireless. So a little digging and found this unit....once it arrived... It looked new and my only concern was at some point a foil tape seal was over the SIM card slot under the cover. It ended up being a false alarm as all was good and non-issue. I am on T-Mobile....popped the SIM card in, ditched the instructions, and used the default info on the unit and logged into it. SIM was recognized no problem, updated the SSID, passwords, etc...done. I then did a quick test drive for wireless and wired...all good to go.Speed overall is pretty darn good. I use the smallest plan as it is only a daily check to make sure all is good and secure....so $10/mo for service....beat out any other service I can find. If speed stays stable under load....I may actually ditch my home ISP and use this unit as you use a tablet plan that is unlimited. Mine did not come with any type of SIM card adaptor but none was necessary as when I picked up the new SIM....I just made sure when it was popped out of the card...it was full size.End result....I'm happy. Extremely easy to setup and get up and running. Mine defaulted in Spanish....but there was a single drop down menu at the very beginning...and that was for what language you want. Easy enough.

Unit made for Chile
The unit I received was mde for Chile. Someone had put an electrical adapter in the box, so it can be plugged into a US outlet. The quick start guide was in Spanish and the warranty is invalid outside Chile.I'm concerned that the wifi frequencies and power limits are not the same as in the US.That said, the unit worked when I plugged it in a put a sim card in it. I will consider increasing the rating after I've deployed the unit and seen if it holds up.UPDATE:The single screw that holds the plug adapter fell out and the adapter came apart leaving exposed contacts while it was still plugged in. This was both a fire and shock hazard. So I've reduced the rating to 1 star. Even after this, the unit is still functioning.UPDATE 2:After serving it's purpose, and being put on the shelf for many months, I pulled it out again and it's still working. If it were not for the unsame adapter that was included, I would give this 4-5 stars.

great router
So far I have nothing but great things to say about this one. We live in the country and don`t have any good internet service providers, so we found ATT IPad wireless plan , which works well. I used to have the netgear modem and used a Mimo antenna with it to get a better signal , because being in a mobile home , you have a hard time getting a signal . So, the netgear router with Mimo antenna cost me almost twice as much as this router and I still had problems getting a decent signal..sometimes I had 2 bars and sometimes 4....so, I get this one a week ago and stuck it in the window and as you can see, I have full bars. I have it hooked up to another wifi router , so we can connect more lines , where we can`t use WIFI. On days when nobody seems to be online, we have about 40 down , on busy evenings , we probably have 15 down. After a week, we are super happy . The only thing that was a bit sticky....was trying to get the micro sim to fit (it uses the normal size SIM) Even though I had the adapters , it did not want to stay , so I used tweezers , holding it together and slipping it in place. Very happy with this router . Don`t waste your money on the netgear , or even the nighthawk, this one works perfectly, for a lot less money

Great beginner hotspot
I originally bought this as I needed internet access on the go. I didnt realize it didnt come with an AC adapter for a vehicle. It was also a European style power cable with a US adapter. It worked well, but didnt get great signal in most places I was in. The antennas also start to get loose over time. I had it about 2 months before I upgraded to a Netgear mobile hotspot that got better signal.

A few oddities
The device appears to work well, but it's a bit disconcerting that most labels and instructions are in Spanish. To find good instructions in English, you have to do a Google search. The Huawei instruction are too limited. The labels in the administration set-up are cryptic for an ordinary user, but this is a common failing of routers. Look it up online and find someone who explains it more clearly. The AC comes with an international plug and a large, clumsy adapter that does not stay firm in the socket. That's a nuisance. This unit must be plugged into AC power to work. It does not have a battery. So it's not a regular mobile hotspot, in case that's what you were looking for.
