I've used this for pencil, oil pastel and charcoal. It's had no trouble with any. The pages are quite thick and that's easy to see as they have quite some weight to them.It's smooth enough so that nothing catches on the page but rough enough so you have better control and texture to you drawings. I'm pretty sure it would hold up against light watercolours too!The cover is also great quality too. It's thick and resistant to bending or tearing. It'll also protect the pages against water to a point, I've spilt a drink over the cover/dropped it on a heavily raining day and nothing was damaged, but I wouldn't risk too much time in water as it's pretty obviously not soak proof.Spiral bound books have always been my enemy but this brands not given me any issues yet and I've had them for almost a year (stuffing them into packed bags too).I've tried quite a few sketchbook brands and none have been as good quality AND affordable so I don't see myself changing any time soon.(Final pic is to show the page texture but it's quite difficult to capture)

I first discovered Seawhite spiral bound sketchbooks in the college shop when I was at art college in the 1990s. Back then we were told to keep a sketchbook as a source of inspiration and to spark creativity. They’re a sturdy sketchbook which can easily accommodate most art mediums as well as being able to fit a surprising amount of items stuck to the pages.Having recently found some of my old sketchbooks from college, I’ve decided to start using a sketchbook again. I was hoping the Seawhite sketchbooks were still being made and I’m so happy that they are - they’re exactly as they were when I first started using them as a student… happy days :-)

The ridged paper is great, really really nice, but the ring binders have a life of their own. The end one's go out of shape and make it very hard to open, then once 'repaired', hard to close. Have taken pliers to the ring binders to repair on a few occasions now and only half way through the pad. It's a shame because the PAPER IS EXCELLENT. SEAWHITE SORT OUT THE RING BINDERS AND YOU'LL HAVE A WINNER ON YOUR HANDS.

I bought the A4 size sketchbook as I planning to improve my drawing skills over this coming year and thought it would be the best size to help me achieve my goals.The paper is very bright and has a cold pressed finish. It is acid free and hard wearing, and could be used for liquid media as well as dry work,at least at this weight (160 grammes). All round great value.

The cover seems to be a black and robust form of cardboard. It handles being thrown in my bag and used in the field without any concerns.The paper is white with slight surface texture that can create a beautiful texture to areas shaded with pencil.I’ve used acrylic markers, Tombow brush pens, ink and pencil in my sketchbook. Very slight buckling of the page has occurred when using the (water based) acrylic markers and shading brush pen marks with water. But not enough to cause an problems for me.I also like the idea of supporting a British company and not buying something that has been shipped half way round the world.

I love Seawhite sketchbooks. Lovely sized sketchbook. Paper is great quality - using it for pencil, pen and ink, chalks and watercolours. Really pleased with the results. I’ve tried other sketchbooks but prefer this one because paper is so smooth to draw on.

Item arrived as described and is good value for money and is of good quality paper. Great for sketches.I would thoroughly recommend for any keen amateur artists.
