This device will fry on you after a few months. Avoid
I bought this to connect to and maintain a wifi connection based on a top review from PC Gamer magazine.Having read some reviews on Amazon warning about the device failing after a few months I thought I would give it the benefit of the doubt and buy it anyway. It worked quite well for the first 11 months, but as of the 12th month it has decided to die. It does not recognize or connect to any network whatsoever. All my other devices and WiFi adapters are fine. This device is badly made probably with planned obsolescence built into it. Not worth the money. Please dont make the same mistake as me. I have now bought a net gear Ac1900 which works instantly.

Could it be any more discreet ?
Probably not. In fact, as wireless adapters go, it must be one of the most attractive ones out there. I have been using it for one month now and would like to think that my input might prove useful to other buyers. To put you in the picture, I have BT Infinity with a Home Hub 3. Until recently, on a desktop PC, I was using a Sweex wireless adapter that gave me download speeds of 37.5Mbps and uploads of 1.6Mbps (pretty much the maximum the exchange for my area supports). When that stopped working I used a Belkin adapter that was not great for signal strength but gave me the same download and upload speeds as the Sweex. The main problems with the Belkin were that it kept losing connection and that it was bulky and not particularly good-looking.And so, because of the reviews, I purchased this one. How delightful. Straightforward to set up and so inconspicuous one would hardly know it's there (although its size means that the light to show you when it is sending/receiving data is difficult to see at any sort of angle so please be aware, if that is an issue for you). What is more, despite its miniature form, it is every bit as good as the Sweex (and I would suggest most other decent adapters) when it comes to signal strength.BUT ... alas, its size HAD to have a drawback somewhere and there is absolutely no disputing where it is: the maximum download speed I now get is 20Mbps (although the upload is now 1.7Mbps). Other computers in the house (laptops and PCs, on different adapters) maintain a steady 37Mbps but the one that has the TRENDnet simply cannot match up. (Incidentally, I have tried it on another PC just to test, with the same result.)Now you might find that this is not huge problem for you - after all, the difference between 20 and 40Mbps for everyday internet use is actually barely noticeable - but you really need to be aware of the item's limitations in this regard. I have to say that it is somewhat galling to be paying for a 40Mbps connection only to find that I have one computer which is not benefiting from it as a direct result of using this adapter.Anyway, it is still a good product (especially for laptops) but do not expect it to match the speeds of good, larger adapters ...FV

Would not recommend this to my worst enemy
This is the first negative review I think I ever given, but this product is totally rubbish. The tew-809ub connected to a high performance PC via USB 3 (windows 10) is achieving 1 to 3 Mbps (bits per sec) max (latest windows and TRENDNet drivers and updates). The laptop sitting next to me on the same network / router is getting 100 Mbps. So this device has transported me back 20 years in terms of internet performance. I wanted a wifi adapter not a time machine.Would not recommend this to my worst enemy. Please avoid.

A near miss from brilliance.
This is a high quality gigabit switch, it is robust and constructed from metal with 5 gigabit ports on the back. The device itself is only the width of the 5 ethernet ports, this means that the DC input jack is located on the side. The small size also means that the power supply is external, you’ll be presented with the usual on-plug transformer, something to be mindful of if you’ve limited space around a socket, as it may overlap. Should you wish to, you can mount the switch on the wall using the preinstalled screw hooks. If you’re precious about cable management I’d look elsewhere, the unfortunate placement of the DC jack really spoils the aesthetics of the device, but as a networking device, it performs exactly as it should, efficiently and reliably.

Perfect for my needs
These little gigabit switches are great. They are practically plug and play. They are metal which in today's standard of plastic everything is a ray of light. I bought two of these little beauties to connect a xbox one, PVR, Amazon Fire TV and Router via a Gigabit powerline plug to the top floor of my 3 storey house to also connect my Desktop pc, Xbox 360 , Home media server, Smart Tv so they can all see each other and stream from the internet or media server without issue and I can happily say it works fantastic without issue. I know the brand name is relatively unknown but all brands need to start somewhere and at least this one is stepping out of the norm to deliver a quality little item at a great price.

Works great
This is the first network switch that I have bought for myself, and I am very happy with it, I have an Internet connection going in one port and three other devices connected to use the connection and it works great, don't get interference between packets and had no problems at all.A nice thing I would like to add is this switch can run 24/7 and not even get warm at all, very good product. Another nice thing is the metal chassis feels great to the touch be a long way compared to a plastic product, very much worth the little extra (or less sometimes thanks to Amazon price changes all the time XD).Highly recommend to anyone, I use it as a networking hub for my room at home and works perfectly had no issues yet and doubt I will.
