Great design and fun to build.
This was a lot of fun to put together. Switching out the batteries is going to be a challenge though 😆 Love the details. This was the first ship I’ve built.

Sturdy, easy to assemble, fun, and beautiful model
What an excellent model. It came well-packaged and could be easily given as a gift in the beautifully decorated box. I purchased this as a fun project for myself, however, so I just jumped right in to putting it together. As with many other products like this, it is made for multiple countries, so pictures are abundant in the instructions and they are super detailed and easy to follow. A first look at the book may be intimidating for some, it is pretty hefty and lengthy looking when you pull it out of the box, but it is because of the detail and pictures, which is exactly what I was looking for.Upon starting, I was initially concerned about ripping the printed paper off the foam backing board, as that happened with some prior models I’ve done. But none of that happened with this kit. I was even comfortable letting my kids help remove some of the pieces and having them help with assembly. No parts were lost to ripping or bending! I did have to take extra care with the sails, since they are printed and made with a thinner paper. But with time and patience, those came out great too.A single criticism that I have would be the lighting switch. Once installed in the ship and the rest of the ship is built around it, there is very little to press against to move the stiff on/off switch. There is a little latch that you can remove the device for battery changes, but for the routine on/off function, opening this latch would lead to premature wear. I would suggest either making sure the switch moves easily before placing it into the model, or perhaps even that the manufacturer consider making the device have a small push-style on/off switch. Otherwise, I think this is a great model. So overall, I think this is a great model and I would definitely recommend.

Patience!
This was a great 3d puzzle. It was my first time, and after reading reviews I made sure to take my time. I thoroughly enjoyed building this and it looks great. I did use a little glue to hold pieces together better. This was only for my comfort as it is large. I liked this so much I bought another one to work on over the winter. Fyi this is not a 4 hour puzzle, it's more like 10 to 15 hours.

Great model, but I wish I knew of the newer version before purchasing
This is a great model. I did have issues with some things staying together and so I needed to use super glue. The battery housing is within the ship and I cannot change batteries if needed. After I had put it together, I saw there was a newer and improved model. This older model really should be removed from Amazon and only the newer one sold. That being said. This is a great model and it was fun to put together.

Set Sail
Excellent kit. It's large so make sure you have room to display it. Take your time and be gentle, especially with any parts that have railings. Be careful with the sails, they can tear. Some pieces have the part number on them, while others do not so I recommend only punching the parts out of the sheet as you need them. Otherwise you might lose track of which is which. I spent two days on it. Great for when you're stuck inside on a rainy day.

A blast to build and even better to look at!
If you like building models or you're an avid fan of puzzles, this kit should absolutely be on your very short list! A word of advice, pay the extra bucks for the LED version of the kit. I promise, you will be happy that you did. The LED lights really "Pop" this model. My friends and family all want to know which store I bought this at so they can get one of their own! When I told them that they'd have to build it, the look on their faces was priceless - lolI absolutely loved building this kit! The instructions are clear and concise and leave no doubt as to which piece goes where. Although the instructions state that no glue is necessary, which is how I did this build, if I were to do it over again, I would have had a tube a glue handy (not super glue!). While the various pre-cut pieces fit each other well, it is still only foam backed paper, and a touch of glue on the numerous connections and joints will make this model as solid as a rock!Overall build time was approximately 8 hours, which was probably due as much to me having to finding the right part and popping it out of one of the 10 sheets of precut parts, as it was to me just taking my time and enjoying the process. I took my time and did the build over several evenings, which I found to be very relaxing and cathartic. :) Even without using glue, this model still feels quite solid and substantial. I was amazed at how good the finished ship looks and feels, especially with the LEDs on and sinister red lighting in the background. This ship is a model of Blackbeard's Queen Anne's Revenge, but frankly, I think it looks much more like the Black Pearl in Pirates of the Caribbean. (see pics)I highly recommend this kit for anybody looking for a way to spend several enjoyable evenings building out a beautiful ship that will look stunning wherever you display it. A second word of advice, although I believe that even novice builders can tackle this kit with a good result, some experience with modeling is probably necessary to do it true justice.

Little bit of superglue and a long way when pieces wouldn’t stay put
It was a lot of fun and and left me entertained for a couple of weeks . there is a couple small headaches with it, but I got it sorted out eventually and it turned out pretty nice.

It was okay..
Things I like - How it looks assembled and I guess overall it was kind of fun.Things I didn't like and neither will you-It can be very difficult to snap pieces together all the way.-The thinner pieces bend far too easily.-It gets very frustrating because of the above. You will say mean things a lot.-The lights are hard to setup and turn on.Overall I just want to make sure other people know what they're getting into. I LOVE puzzles. I love models. This thing is extremely difficult because of it being cardboard. The pieces will bend, not snap together, not go in holes.Just don't buy this is you want something fun and easy as they title it. It's difficult. Trust me.
