My daughter has her gecko on her desk under her bed which makes putting an external light difficult. I mounted a small wooden hanging basket bracket to the side of her bed and hung this lamp and it's perfect, a safe distance from the tank but close enough for a good light/heat aspect. It's set on a timer so helps with morning wake up too, lol, gecko is happy, she has a heat bulb in a cage but this lamp makes a huge difference. Just be careful where you place it as we first put the tank a little far forwards and the heat melted the foam background of the tank, then we moved it a little far back and it started to melt the plastic of the lid. We've got it just right now and no problems at all.

Very happy with this lamp, I have put a ceramic bulb in it to keep my tortoise warm during the winter time. Easy to assemble, has a sturdy clip to attach the lamp, the only qualm I have is that I couldn't angle it enough to attach it to the side of the aquarium so had to make a makeshift plate to clip it onto, but apart from that, it's great. It has an on/off switch so it can be turned off separately to his day light. Very pleased with my purchase.

Reasonable for the price. Clip is secure and will attach to most surfaces. Takes a standard UV basking bulb.

The holder uses a clamp, which falls over constantly. Does the job, however we bought a 150w light and the temperature sticker changed colour, indicating the light was too powerful for the holder, so the holder DEFINITELY can NOT hold 300w of heat, it's bull. Would recommend choosing a different product, this one has caused a few issues which we had to figure out ourselves.
