Delightful Candy for Green Tea Lovers
The Eitaro Sohonpo Matcha Candy is a delightful candy to enjoy if you love the flavor of green tea. The candies are lightly sweet with a bold matcha flavor. I enjoyed how the matcha flavor was strong without being overly bitter, and the candies were sweet but not so sweet that it was cloying. Oddly enough, the candy reminded me of a matcha latte, even though it didn't contain any milk in it. It just has a clean and refined green tea flavor that will likely appeal to green tea lovers. Overall, it's a delicious candy that I would purchase again.

Pricey, with a minimal matcha flavor
If you've ever been into an Asian super market then you'll know what type of candies these are. Each little candy is individually wrapped and comes with about 12 pieces in each sealed box. The shelf life was almost a year from the time I received the candies. The candy itself is very similar to the guava hard candies or the candy that come in those little tins.I gotta say when it comes to Matcha flavor I felt like it was faint and barely there. I usually correlate matcha with the very strong bitter taste, but this one has more of a sweet taste without that bitter tea that many of us are familar with. As a hard candy flavor through I'd say it was pretty decent, but if you are looking for hardcore matcha flavor that's not here.

A Delicious Way To Enjoy Or Introduce The Grassy And Herbal Flavor Of Green Tea
Eitaro Candy, Green Tea, is a delicious and delightful way to enjoy the taste of green tea without having to brew a cup. The order includes 12 pieces of individually wrapped hard candy held in a frosted white colored plastic box. The triangular shaped, jade colored green candy looks like there is a faint white powdered coating to it. The candy has a tasty flavor that is not too sweet which I really enjoyed. It is a great way to introduce someone to the flavor of green tea with its grassy and vegetal notes with a sweetness and softness. It is easy to tuck a piece into a pocket, purse, backpack, carry-on, or glove box. The candy is made with starch syrup, sugar, and matcha powder. It is Made in Japan. The product that I received has a best by date of 11 months from the date that I received it. I definitely plan on adding another order to our Amazon cart.

Reminiscent of drinking a mildly sweet matcha tea
These candies speak high quality from the packaging down to the candies themselves. The candies themselves are somewhat triangular and roughly stays that way as it melts in the mouth. This gives it an interesting texture and honestly I like it over the typical oval shapes. The flavor is subtle matcha with a slight but not overpowering sweetness. I quite enjoy asian candies in general as well as green tea and matcha tea so this fits the flavor profile fairly nicely. The fact that this reminds me of drinking a mildly sweet matcha tea rather than an overpoweringly sugar filled candy like many others on the market is probably my favorite thing about this candy.Value: This is certainly premium candy at its current price range. It comes in a pack of 12. It would be good for those with a refined palate or occasional splurge and would make an excellent gift especially given the nice packaging and the candies being handmade and fairly unique.

Yuck!
I suppose they're an OK candy if you like sucking on grass. It's definitely not my favorite flavor. I'm sure a bunny would love it as it tastes just like a freshly mown lawn smells. They dissolve smoothly though. They're a well made candy, the flavor is just dismal.
