Good quality grinder for a great price!
This is a great product and probably the cheapest grinder money can buy (given the quality). I use it mainly for espresso grind but sometimes venture into an aeropress or a cafetiere and it performs well. I like the simplicity and ability to dial into a specific grind size. The only thing is the tamper holder isn't as strong as it could be and it does tend to spread coffee everywhere after every use (maybe more me than the machine). It's not the quietest machine but none are! Great for a first grinder!

A Versatile and Convenient Coffee Grinder
I got the Sage Dose Control coffe grinder to upgrade my hand grinder which was inaccurate and hard to change grinds. This Sage grinder has made a huge difference to the quality of my morning coffee(s), whether pour over or espresso.I have used the unit for a few weeks now. It is attractive with a small footprint, which is fortunate because it has a ridiculously short power cable. The grind change is easy. I have not had an problems grinding for espresso on the out of the box configuration. The grind duration control does appear a little flimsy but works fine. There is an irritating and worrying buzz when the unit is connected to power but I note other users have reported the same and so it must be normal. In summary, I am very pleased with the performance of this product to date. This Sage grinder, while not cheap, is versatile and convenient for all but the most demanding coffee drinkers.

Most versatile grinder at a reasonable price
I got this because it can grind from espresso fine to very coarse. Okay, purists will say the espresso is only fine enough for a machine with a pressurised portafilter, but that's as fancy as I'm likely to get. The main thing is I can also grind coarse enough for a pour-over or pretty much anything else. It's not 'cheap' but I consider it decent value for a good standard of grinding. In operation, it's pretty quiet and very simple. You either keep the button pressed until you have enough coffee or set the timer and press the button once. If you keep changing the grind size, you'll have to keep recalibrating the timer. And in fact after a few weeks of use, I've realised the timer is inconsistent and not to be trusted – I get better results just counting to ten in my head and pressing the button manually. The bean hopper is sealed so okay to store a reasonable quantity for daily use.You can insert two sizes of portafilter (adapters are in a compartment in the base where there are other tools) or use a dosing cup. Or just a regular cup if you're not fancy.Adjusting the grind size couldn't be easier – you just twist the whole of the hopper – and there are about 40 settings. Well, one thing could be easier – seeing the number you're setting it to is quite tricky because of the the reflective surface. The construction is very neat, but the overall effect of the the grinder, though quite stylish, is that it is built to a price.Cleaning is easy (static does cause mess – though it seems to get less over time) and the machine is pleasantly compact. I don't like the loud hum the transformer makes but it does remind you to switch off at the socket.I moved up from a Hario hand grinder and not only is this vastly quicker and easier (I was getting sick of hand grinding), you can really taste the difference. I was actually surprised by how much better my coffee tasted using this instead of the hand grinder. So overall I'm mostly happy with my purchase as somebody who's serious about coffee, but not in the obsessive category.

Love it
Love this grinder. Bought an espresso machine and got ground coffee from a supermarket. I didn't really enjoy the coffee so decided to go for a grinder and this was a great decision and a great choice of grinder. I ordered fresh coffee beans from a coffee roaster , and difference is amazing from supermarket coffee. Coffee is amazing. Beans weren't as expensive as you would think. It was a bit of trial and error for a week or 2 but when you get it right it is worth every penny. Easy to use and clean. It has a timer and 60 settings on neck of grinder , and also can adjust from inside for fine adjustments. I got mine just in time as it went up £60 in price a week later. Best purchase I have made in a long time, along with the espresso machine. They work well together.

Almost Perfect
Having recently bought my first espresso machine - a Sage Bambino Plus, the next step was to look for a grinder and once I saw the Dose Control Pro on offer at £50 off it was too good a deal to miss. Now everybody told me you need to get a grinder because pre-ground coffee sucks and if you want to take your coffee to the next level grinding fresh is the way to do it . But initially I was disappointed, more faff weighing out the beans and cleaning up the mess and no matter what grind size I chose the coffee didn’t taste great! Doh well that was a waste of money!Fortunately I persevered and in the end I found it was poor supermarket coffee beans that were the problem and once I got better quality beans OMG it was night and day. I now love my grinder and wouldn’t go back to pre-ground coffee. RecommendSo what’s the Dose Control Pro like? It’s great, it’s well built, it’s a relatively small size, it doesn’t make too much noise and it’s a doddle to use.On the downside the grind size ring can be difficult to read in anything other than perfect light. Not much of a problem if you don’t change it much but if you’re using the grinder for different coffee machines that need a different grind then this could be an issue. Also as it comes it can get quite messy with ground coffee spilling out from the portafiltre, although this is easily solved by adding a dosing funnel. So all in all it’s a great little grinder - recommended.
