It has a suction bit at the bottom although we do not use this. The brush is of good quality and cleans his teeth (obviously when accompanied with toothpaste).It is a one use toothbrush so the battery cannot be recharged.It is a good quality toothbrush with paw patrol on it for a very reasonable price (I bought for under £3). My son loves the design and the light, and he loves to use it for brushing his teeth. I would have expected better in this situation. Vitapoint seller = buyer beware!!Since writing this, the seller has refunded me without requiring the faulty toothbrush to be returned.
