Completely fit for purpose. Smooth back means gentle on furniture. It's transparent - if you place something underneath you can see it. The topside is textured, so gives a marginally blurred effect, but small print remains legible. Looks to be a well made and durable product. Price is reasonable. Would recommend.

The mat allows your nice desktop to show through and does not suffer too much from "edge curl". It's just OK for a mouse, but does not replace a proper mouse mat. What it does not do is stay in place!On a smooth, wooden desktop, it will "wander" quite quickly, as you do normal things like move your keyboard. This is not surprising, as most mats move around. The solution, which I have used on previous, non opaque, mats is a little bit of double sided carpet tape at each back corner. This works fine, but now I have two smallish green squares showing through my nice opaque mat - such is life.

As a result, my desk (50x65cm) is not covered 100% as my desk is 50cm width. It's a minor issue really but I was a little bit disappointed.This mat is NOT 100% transparent. It's more like a 'foggy window'. Despite this, if you put notes underneath the mat, IT IS readable. The desk NOT being 100% transparent is actually a good thing because it's quite difficult to notice any minor marks on the desk mat, compared to a 100% transparent desk mat.This mat works great whilst a laptop is on it with a desktop mouse plugged in (the mat works great as a MOUSE PAD). The mat sits perfectly including all the edges. I can't fault the mat in terms of quality either. I bought this hoping it would stay put under my laptop, mousepad, and for a writing area. On the plus side, it seems like it'll protect the surface just fine from the scratches my Macbook was leaving on my new desk. Unfortunately, it slides around too easily and while this might not be the case on different types of surface, wood, etc., to remedy that it would've been nice if there'd be a more rubbery back to the mat so it didn't slide so easily. Nice size, just a bit too slippery.

This desk mat arrive very quickly considering I ordered during the Easter break. The mat was very well packaged and arrived in perfect condition. Great desk mat and with my laptop on it for 5 plus hours there has been no issues with overheating or the mat getting hot. The mat is non slip, transparent so you can put document under it and still see the text, and works as a mouse mat as well. An excellent purchase at a great price.

Slightly opaque, tough plastic desk mat. Does the job - protected my desk against scratches and cups of hot coffee.

Very large, semi-transparent mat; you very much an see the desk underneath it (or whatever you put there); a little blue-tinted. Bendy, not rigid, but strong enough that there's no give when you're writing on it even through a single sheet of paper. It does slide around a bit if pushed with sufficient force (for example, my keyboard's feet are grippier than it is, so if I try to suddenly reposition my keyboard by pushing or pulling, it's the mat that will move). Flat enough that I can put a mousepad half on, half off, and while there's a noticeable bump, it's not so huge that it makes the mouse slip. Came in a large flat box, so no creases.
