A Great Product for the Serious Listener but still a Work in Progress on Some Fronts
First of all to be clear, there are a number of things that are not yet perfect about this device. So you may wonder why the five stars and not four. Simply put, I walked into this purchase with my eyes wide open and following a lot of research with a view to a long term investment. Therefore I already expected some of the niggles and although a couple of new ones have emerged, some of my expected challenged have not emerged ether which was a pleasant surprise. This is not a long review, there are far better ones on Head-Fi for enthusiasts to read. These are just my subjective thoughts so far.Package delivered on time and well packaged as usual from Amazon and AMP3. No issues.Build and case - As expected, solid and heavy. Feels very well built and comes with a screen protector pre-installed. All who know the trials of installing these things yourself will appreciate this so nice touch. Buttons are easy although the cover over the volume wheel can be a little annoying in terms of access. The case is simple but nicely made. Only complaint is that it can be tricky to swipe up the screen to bring up Google navigation if you have big clumsy fingers like me.Battery - I have tested charging and usage and its in line with specs - 8-9 hours of use and 3-4 hours to charge when off. Be aware, this can vary depending on USB power. If you power is low this can take longer.Connectivity - Wifi and BT work fine, tested to my Parrot Zik's ok. Physical connectivity via USB C is another issue though. Windows all as expected BUT I cannot get my Mac computers to mount the device. They do see it when in DAC mode (via Audirvana and Roon) but will not mount the drive. Case logged with iBasso but I just switched to a Windows VM and its fine. *NOTE ensure you set you VM software to prompt you to confirm connection to Windows when you plug in the device.Apps - this is one area where I took a risk. For me, streaming in high res from Qobuz is a must and as this device does not offer full Google play store support, I knew I would need to sideways install the apps with no guarantees. Nobody anywhere confirms Qobuz works on this device so here I am confirming all perfect and easy to install via APK file. I now have Qobuz and Tidal running perfectly well, including off line mode.Sound - absolutely amazing. I bought this for the sound and scalability (it has replaceable AMP modules much like the Fiio X7). Running the AMP1 in single ended mode provides incredible clarity and separation (see detailed Head Fi reviews for more info and measurements). There is plenty of power (unlike the Onkyo DP-X1 or the identical Pioneer XDP-300R). The headphones I am using are no slouches either, MrSpeakers Ether C Flow, Audeze LCD2, Westone W40 IEMs etc. SO if your primary goal is power and sound, go for it. The two Sabre ESS9028Pro DAC chips certainly do the job here and out strip the competition IMO. I have compared to the top end Sony's etc and these win hands down in the sound department but are very neutral. The software is a little buggy but you can see the effort iBasso are putting in to develop all the time, so I have put my faith and cash behind this product for the long haul.

Beautiful machine and wonderfully packaged
Beautiful machine and wonderfully packaged. Sounded a bit too cold and analytical at first, but had blown me away within a couple of hours. I didn't think the DX90 could be improved upon, but this payer really is in a different league. I have not experienced any software issues and I can confirm that Amazon Music works perfectly when side loaded. Bluetooth also works perfectly with headphones. Well done iBasso!!

BUYER BEWARE Advanced MP3 players AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!
IBASSO DX200 Damaged my PC however Advanced MP3 players claim DX200 not responsible, even though i can prove this as the item did not work and was advised by IBASSO to try a different USB C...now nothing works!!!!

Poor DAP In Every Way
The ibasso dx200 was a real disappointment. I have two amps amp1 and amp8. The comparison is made comparing to Fiio X5ii and Sony WM1A (which is not that more expensive). The sound is mushy, the mids are buried. Definite V shape sound. I have compensated with eq boosting considerably the mids and hi’s a little less. The clarity and soundstage is very poor for a DAP at this price. Have run both amp1 and 8 for over 100 hours. The software is clunky and unstable. Mango crashes and have to turn off and reboot. For anyone who likes detail, separation and wide sound stage with excellent clarity best save your money and wait for deal on Sony WM1A the difference in sound quality is vast.

Ibasso DX200 with IT03 and CB13 upgrade cable
Ibasso DX200 with IT03 and CB13 upgrade cable The DX 200 is a stunning device, the sound quality is superb I was so impressed I upgrade my headphone to the IT03's this took the sound to another level. I finally added the CB13. this was just the icing on the cake. The sound stage is immence, thne bass is controlled and very extended. The mids and highs are sweet and very musical. It is just amazing. I have tried this against players more than twice the price and this combination out performs them in all aspects and Ibasso are a joy to deal with.10 out of 10.
