Works Well
I wanted a steady 12 volts for my CPAP machine when running off a battery when can vary from just over 13 volts to under 12 volts. So far this converter seems to put out a steady 12.3 volts and the CPAP machine is happy.BTW, I paired it with a ERYY "12V LiFePO4 Lithium Battery, 4000+ Deep Cycles Battery with BMS, Perfect for Off-Grid Solar, Trolling Motors, Boat, Marine, RV, Solar, etc (12V 25Ah Plus (30Ah))" and after 4 nights it still shows over 70% charge. I don't use water or a heater with the CPAP machine.

Failed after 4 months
Installed on my solar system in my travel trailer and it worked for 4 months. Then after hearing a loud pop the fan it was powering stopped. I checked the voltage and the output was 0v. The input was at 13.2v but 0v on the output. It was powering a 10 inch fan that needed 12v DC at 1.0 amp fine for weeks at a time with out and issue.

does what I needed it to
I added this to my VW camper van so the mouse/rodent blocker would continue to function when I stored it with the battery tender attached. They are designed to only function when the battery voltage drops (vehicle not running). With the battery tender the voltage does not drop and the rodent "scarecrow" stops working. This fixes that issue.Very pleased.

Not very reliable, definitely NOT recommended.
I am using my regulator in my radio shack to power a 12 volt dc computer that draws 8 watts. Since everything is solar powered in my shack, the voltage can run from as high as 14.5 volts, down to 10.8 volts where the battery management system cuts the voltage off, requiring a reset. Since using this regulator, it has never gone below 11.0 volts, nor needed to be reset. These voltages are within the published specs. However, many times now, the unit will stop putting out 12 volts, and will only light a power indicator light on my monitor that will not allow the monitor to power up, and the computer won’t boot at all.If I lift the input power to the regulator and then reattach it, it behaves normally, and my monitor and computer function properly. This is not what I consider to be normal, nor acceptable behavior for this circuit.Bottom line, I don’t recommend this regulator because of its abnormal behavior under load with a varying input voltage well within its stated specs.I am currently searching for a better alternative to this sub par product.

Decent step down converter
I used this to step down a 20V Craftsman drill battery to 12V for some LED's I am running on a mini bike. Super easy to use if you know how to wire low voltage, if you do not, then just youtube it, there are plenty videos. I did not experience any issues with the polarity being reversed or incorrect.

Works great
I have a camper with a transformer that was putting out 13.7vdc. I installed a chinese diesel heater and although the manual said that was within a suitable range I kept getting over voltage errors. This unit took the 13.73v and reduced it to 12.4v and the heater is working properly now.

Reorder
I reordered the same thing from my last order but this time came without inline fuse
