Beautiful Clock
The media could not be loaded. Exactly what I was looking for. Very well made, got a bit of weight to it. Nice size. I wanted a clock that chimed the Whittington Chimes and this one does (you can also set it for the Westminster Chimes). Volume is loud, but you can lower or higher the volume as you want. Option to turn off the chimes overnight. Arrived well packaged and easy to set up, but it does say in the instructions to give it 24 hours to settle into the correct chimes pattern, and mine did take this long - don’t panic, it sorts itself out! Keeps good time. Very easy to read the clock face.Lovely chimes on the quarter hours, quite a mellow, deep chime which is very beautiful. Sounds and looks more expensive than it is.Very pleased with this clock indeed.

Really attractive and quality clock
I wanted a traditional clock when redecorating our dining room. The house is early 20th C so this is a perfect style match. It's a lovely clock, good quality, nice weight and wood. It's a good size for a mantle piece. Only comment is that in some lights the handle position can be difficult to see straight away in the centre of the dial. The chimes are really mellow - I'd been worried they might be tinny but the sound is rounded. You can't hear the ticking at all. You can't opt to run it without the chimes, but the volume dial means that you can get the sound to an agreeable level. The night control is really useful - no chimes from 23:45 until around 5:30 I think - as everything is so quiet at the moment when it gets late.I've had it a week. It is definitely worth the money on first experience.

What a clock!
Having just purchased my first house, I needed a clock for my living room, and what better than a Napolean clock. This thing just oozes class. It's a very well-built quartz mantle clock with Westminster and Whittington chimes. I've personally turned the sound down to 'zero' and mine is completely silent. But that's how I wanted it.I just wanted to be able to look at the time and sometimes, because the clock is so elegant, I look at the clock and admire it and don't even check the time. Made of solid wood and taking a C battery, you can go to youtube and type in 'QXJ013B' and you'll see my overview of this fantastic piece.Highly recommended.

Love my chiming mantel clock!
Have been looking for a traditional chiming wooden-cased mantel clock for ages. Initially I had had my heart set on a mechanical mantel clock as had thought the chimes on a battery-operated device might sound less `authentic' - but, finding the mechanical chiming timepieces rather thin on the ground (and expensive!), decided to take a punt and order this beauty.I am pleased to say I have not been disappointed with my purchase - the Westminster chimes sound lovely (I have them on almost the lowest setting which, when playing, instantly bring to mind old libraries, studies and gentlemen's clubs!) but, if these aren't your bag, the clock also comes with a Whittingham chime option. It does not emit a discernible ticking sound either so would blend in to the background of any room you care to keep it. For those that do not wish to have the chimes at all, you can completely shut these off with little effort - there is also an easily operated night time `shut-off' so the chimes don't play during the night. All options/tweaks for the mantel clock are carried out by opening its back (an easy to pop out black plastic disk insert). A `C' battery is also included in the box which will require inserting in to the back of the timepiece to activate the mechanism.

Super value and quality, but you can't beat the real thing.
Firstly, ordered from ESR Chester standard delivery on Sat. p.m., arrived 10 a.m. Sun. Amazing so close to Christmas.I bought this clock as a temporary replacement for my lovely 1960's wind up which is going away for a service. It is a good, well made, but ultimately unconvincing repro. The case and dial are too small to fool, and although the sound is close to the real thing it doesn't quite do it. The night silence option is a welcome modern feature. If you want an inexpensive repro. chiming clock I think that this will please, I am very happy with it for what it is. Bear in mind also that the service cost for the real thing is going to be in excess of three times of the cost of this item. Overall, a nice modern repro. style Mantel clock with good sound.

Beautiful chiming clock.
I have been looking for a chiming clock for some time and was delighted with this one by Seiko. Beautifully made with dual chimes which have adjustable volume. It is easy to read and very accurate. Highly recommend.
