source country unknown/delicious, though
It's a bit expensive, but lasts a long time if used only once a week, as I do. Why in tarnation do these dragon fruit sellers HIDE the country of origin???!! It's quite irresponsible, eh? These companies don't want you to know that it's overwhelmingly sourced from China, which I want to avoid for obvious safety reasons. Melamine, anyone? (Sarcasm) Other than that worry and complaint, it's a tasty and gorgeously-hued addition to my oatmeal and giant salads. It tends to clump up, requiring me to exert some force to break up the clumps. This does not detract from the taste or texture and is not an unexpected occurrence, due to the nature of the powdered fruit sugars, from what I understand.

Pink perfection!
Wilderness Poets, Organic Dragon Fruit Powder is a plant-based superfood that will turn boring food and drink into a wonderful pink color, adding flavor at the same time!I regularly eat plain yogurt in the mornings, and this dragon fruit powder has been fun to add to the yogurt. Just put a spoonful in, stir it around, and the boring, cream-colored yogurt is now a vivid pink, with an extra fruit boost. The flavor isn't overly strong, but it's definitely there. A spoonful of granola or a handful of blueberries on top of the yogurt, and it's a healthy breakfast food or morning snack. I had big plans to try this in drinks and for baking, but it looks as if I'm going to finish the packet too soon for any of that! This product is plant-based, with antioxidants and vitamins. I appreciate any opportunity to add color to my food without adding chemicals, and there are proven health benefits to these ingredients. At $31.85 for a bag, it's not a cheap product, but you're only using a spoonful at a time, and I believe that good-quality, healthy food is worth paying for.

Disappointed
Wilderness Poets organic, freeze-dried, dragon fruit powder will put you in the pink (magenta.) Loaded with color; a very vivid magenta, antioxidants and vitamin C. Many have described the taste as reminiscent of strawberry, kiwi and pear. I however found it lacked a discernible, distinctive flavor profile. Slightly sweet, slightly tart, but nothing else. I was disappointed. Can be used in smoothies, frozen desserts, baking or fortifying cottage cheese (or yogurt, if you must.)Works as a natural food colorant or to add fruit to your culinary creations.I also found this to be rather expensive.

Lightly sweet and subtle flavor.
I've never used dragonfruit before, either fresh or dried. But I gave this dried dragonfruit powder a try because of the beautiful color and the healthy aspect of it.A little in a smoothie and it changes my pale colored smoothie into a glorious pop of color. The flavor is very subtle and slightly fruity and a bit tropical.I like to stir it into Greek yogurt too. Add it to mixed drinks and astonish your guests with the vibrant color and intriguing taste. Add some to your hot or cold tea. Stir the dragonfruit powder into your no bake cheesecake mixture for a beautiful colorful cheesecake. Add the powder to frosting and your frosting will be a beautiful bright magenta. There are so many uses for this powder. If you're using it for the health benefits it's high in fiber, high in nutrients, high in antioxidants and it strengthens the immune system.

A pretty mix you can feel good about eating
The Wilderness Poets, Organic Dragon Fruit Powder is a beautiful powder with its bright pink coloring. The freeze-dried fruit powder comes in an 8-ounce bag, but you can see from the picture that it settles to about half the size of the bag. I tried mixing this in plain water just to taste the flavor and it is very mild, kind of bland. I could detect a hint of the dragon fruit flavor, but this mix is not very sweet. I prefer to add it to Greek yogurt, which makes it a beautiful color, and then dress it up with some fruit and granola and a little sweetener. I love the health benefits and that it's full of antioxidants.
