Q: If I have a nominal 3/4" pipe, will I be able to use a mallet to attach them to the pipe or do I need a lather and press?

My understanding is that a nominal pipe size is the interior (hole size) which would definitely not work. If I am in error on this, I can add that I had to turn between .001" and .002" off the diameter of the 3/4" steel rod in order to push it on by hand. I found the bore to be about .748" using a dial caliper.

Q: Will these bearings need to be greased before use and regreased for maintenance?

Good afternoon, Pillow blocks do need to be greased once they arrive to you and depending on the usage you would have to re-greased for maintenance.

Q: What is the spacing on mounting holes? I need 3" center to center

The holes center to center is 3 and 5/8

Q: Is there any give with the holes? Are they oval so that I can move the mounting screws back and forth to fit the mounting holes (3-1/8" in my case)?

Yes. Used these on my toro 550 mini worked out great plenty of back and forth to adjust the chain
